Speaking of 5 RBs, what about 6 DEs?

Are we actually going to keep five DEs on the roster in 2014?  I mean, the forgotten guys now that Ealy has been drafted are Mario Addison and Wes Horton.  Of course Frank Alexander may be the logical choice for obvious reasons, but that's hardly a lock.  All of the three have displayed flashes of excellence in limited or spot duty. And, of course, the Hardy-Johnson story is not necessarily going to be resolved this year.

Something has to give, right?

Come on.  Ealy was a solid pick, and if you look at a few things, you will see why:

1. Most draft sites had him ranked between 18-32

2. His last college game vs. OSU in Cotton Bowl--he dominated vs the pass and run

3. The history of the DE-how long it takes most to adapt to NFL

4. The current contract situation

5. How much better our rotation is likely to be this year

I like the pick but there where OT's & WR ranked  for 1-3 rounds also . The idea of BPA is skewed, teams go for players they believe in and fits their team philosophy.

Are having serious concerns as if gettleman made a mistake or is this just conversation?

I think having tough decisions of who is being cut is a good thing. Shows were good and were deep.

Everything isn't a concern, just a point of conversation.

BTW, overall I think that G-man is doing a good job.

I really don't know why people keep bringing Ealy up in this thread. For arguments sake, let's assume that he deserves that first round grade. Everyone knows that he and our two beasts are a lock to make the team.  It's the other three--err four I am worrying about. Who in the hell is Hall?
