There's no way we're carrying 5 RB's on the 53

You have the exact same mindset as a lot did going into the 2013 season. How could DG be so stupid?

12-4.

Gettleman may very well have his flaws, but I much rather have him than the last guy

It's almost like folks have to believe last year was a fluke. And that we will revert back to the "Same ol' Panthers" this year.

To me we look to be better than last year. I guess I just don't see where we took a step back. Because we didn't upgrade Bell?

I'm almost at the point if these young running backs are the future of carolina then get them on the field, cut deangelo, take the dead money hit and move on.

It is too early to do something so drastic. Let's get through OTAs, Mini Camp, and Training Camp before we start jetisoning players that actually did help us last year.

DWill was our only big play threat last year. And he needs help. But let's make sure we can replace what he gave us before we kick him to the curb.

IF Stewy is healthy, we are better. But that is an iffy if.

Tolbert is reliable, but he is not a big play back.

Barner has yet to prove he even belongs.

Gaffney has a chance to replicate what Stewy brought. It is just to early to count on that.

We have a chance to be good at RB. We also have a chance to be not so good. To me, it is just to damm early to make that determination.

I don't have much faith in Barner in any capacity. He's just too small and weak, every time he gets hit he bounces back a few yards and I'm sure I've just watched somebody get killed. I fear many fumbles if he returns kicks and/or punts for us.

The kid was productive in college. My hope is that the game was just to big for him last year. A full year of off-season workouts and coaching just may do the trick. To me, it is worth a look. Best case, he gets it this year and can help. Worse case, he never gets it and we lost out on a 6th rounder.

Mike Tolbert is the best runningback on this football team.

If you don't mind giving up on the big plays that DWill can still deliver.

Tolbert is not going to break one off like DWill can. But...Tolbert will get you positive yards. There is a trade-off.

2013 was basically Hurney's 2012 squad with a Cam growing a year further

Gettlemen improved the DT spot noticeably. Could argue he could of done more

For every big play Williams delivers you have to withstand a lot of negative and go nowhere plays. That isn't what our offense is designed to have

carolina doesnt need a big play rb, they want to grind and own the clock. as long as the rb can pick up 3-4 yards per carry, thats all they need.

It may be all they need, but I for one will take a big play every now and then. No RB gets 3-4 yards every carry. Even Beast Mode has his bad plays.

What about DWill's ability on the screen passes? He is the ONLY RB we have that can get you a big play in that scenario.

NO RB gains positive yardage on every play. What about maybe mixing up the play calling. When we were on our 8 game winning streak we actually passed the ball on 1st down. Then DWill could gain yardage on 2nd and short. Then when we went all conservative and went back to running on 1st down, DWill got stuffed a lot more. There is more to it than just DWill.

Dude, you are a broken record. We all know you would rather DWill be gone than eat steak for dinner.

You conveniently forget how many times DWill gets wacked in the backfield. Or has no hole to run through up the middle. It is easier for you to blame DWill for bad running plays than to blame him having no where to run.

Hellz, even Tolbert had runs of no gain, or loss of yardage. But hey, let's not blame him. Let's put all the blame on DWill.

I'm willing to give Gettleman his fair share of praise for that Defense last year. He brought in the young guys and the vets that fit our scheme well, were very cheap, and produced at high levels. Whether you want to give him the credit or not, Getts knocked it out of the park in the FA signing area last season, and that's something Hurney was never good at.

Offense left me wanting, even though the guys he picked up in FA there contributed too. There's just so much money tied up in those damn running backs that we can't really fix any of our glaring offensive issues.
