There's no way we're carrying 5 RB's on the 53

You're talking semantics here. He's making the roster. The question is if we'll cut DWill or Brockel . If we cut Brockel, he'll also have to prepare to fill Tolbert's role when he needs a breather or gets hurt. If we cut DWill, he doesn't have to worry about that his rookie year.

Also, there is a way to keep both...I'm not sure if we want to do that though.

Not semantics....people are saying we wont carry 5 but we always do. Others are saying that it means we have to cut Deangello or Stewart. I suppose we could but all he has to do is replace Armond. I believe just about everone forgot that Armond was one of the 5 we kept last year.

By 5, are we counting Tolbert?

I have no idea. I say we practice squad or IR the rookie... He'll make the team next year for sure though after somebody gets the axe.

I'd rather IR Barner in hopes that he bulks up some more. I think his only real chance is as a returner.

Agreed. The "Gettleman knows all" mentality has got to go. He's been here two years and he's done some pretty dumb sh*t, but people here act like he's some sort of messiah and he can do no wrong.

Sure, he's done some good things as well, but his best signing last year was Ted Ginn and he didn't even try to resign him. Same goes for some other key, instrumental players from last year.

And I don't care how people try to make sense of cutting Steve Smith, but it was an idiotic move unless something went down behind the scenes. People try to play the "Oh but we signed Jerricho Cotchery" schtick, but do they fail to realize that he's just as old, nearly just as expensive, yet less productive?

Gettleman has made some shitty moves, and drafting Star, which I'm sure Hurney and 31 other GMs in the league would've done in our position, does not automatically make the man a god.

I will say this about you dude. You are consistent.

Only thing we have seen from Barner as a rusher was them giving him a handful of reps running in a FB role.....

That doesn't tell us anything

Time's change. He should get better....and we have no clue where he even is to get better from. Williams should continue his decline.

Wait until camp to guess the outcomes

And I will say the same thing next year even if he proves me wrong, simply because me and him clearly have different mentalities.

I'm a conservative, if it isn't broke, don't fix it kinda guy. If the defensive line is so good, don't waste a 2nd rounder on a DE, etc.

I loved the draft last year (outside of Kug and not grabbing a wideout late), I loved free agency last year. But this year? Pieces were in place and he didn't bother trying to keep them there, and he has yet to even replace many of them.

He's the expert, not me. I'll gladly let him prove me wrong.

Lol. What has he dine that's proven dumb? U mad cause he isn't buddy buddy with your favorite over priced over valued players? Lol fug that. I wana win

Cutting Steve, if that's what you're referring to, may not prove to be a dumb football move (that much is yet to be seen), but the guy has been the face of the franchise and hands down the fanbase's favorite player for at least 10 years. At the very least, that wasn't a very smart business move.

But like you said, you wanna see this team win. As do I. It'll be interesting to see how they manage with pure DT's starting on the line, two offensive tackles total (?), a washed up wideout corpse headed by an unproven "one year wonder" rookie, two guys who were casted off of two of the league's worst pass defenses playing safety, a converted safety of our own as well as a 2nd year undrafted free agent at corner, and no return man in sight.

"Oh just wait until free agency!!" "Oh just wait until the draft!!"

Well, now I'm waiting for training camp and preseason cuts from other teams, but that's a lot of holes to fill with scrubs from other squads. Hopefully Cam can hide the oline struggles, hopefully our wideouts step up, hopefully our front 7 hides our shoddy defensive backfield. If not, we're in for a fun continuation of the "No Back-to-Back Winning Record" streak in a stacked NFC South.

Actually the only problem I really have is your use of the phrase "Gman has made some dumb azz moves". Other than some picks that we all would do differently, I don't see any move, well Smitty, that was shitty, or dumb.

Since Polian left, we have had rather uneasy leadership. To put it nicely. Gman is a football guy. He has made this team better than it has been in a long time. Cam or not, this is a really good football team.

We had a thread recently that showed that Olines are not made by purely top picks. They help of course, but many lines have produced without all-stars. We had a decent year Offensively last year. With a pretty bad WR corp. (Outside of an aging Smitty) Chandler with a year of growth, and Turner may just give us the boost we need.

We were better last year than the year before. And I believe we are better this year than last year. The only upgrade we really need is to find someone to move Bell to depth. Even with Bell, we should be able to continue what we want to do on offense. Control the clock, move the ball, convert 1st downs, and hopefully score a few more points.

I just don't think that because we didn't improve at the Tackle position that we can't be better. We are improving. What more do you need?

Still no editing function? I meant DT starting on the offensive line. Saying "line" ambiguously makes it sound as if I'm referring to the defensive line, where I would hope we have pure DT's in the starting lineup.

Chandler had played a more football as an offensive lineman than a defensive lineman. I
