c+. Not excited about any pick but that really doesn't mean anything because I never attended a single workout or meeting nor did I see more than a highlight film or a broadcasted game, which is the ultimate average fans opinion. I felt we had plenty of opportunity to address obvious needs, but some feel reaching for needs equals disaster. Two picks I like the least are rounds 4 and 6, but most I know little about. I lay here almost passed out drunk and don't remember what this thread is about. Here's to hoping for the best!

Overall, it's hard to grade this draft... if I'm grading this draft based on future potential then I'm giving it a B+ because Ealy could be a stud, Turner will be a stud, Bene' has a chance to be a good NB, and Gaffney and Boston are meh.

If I'm grading it based on how it will affect us next year then I'm giving it a C+. Benjamin and Turner will be day one starters but we could have also used another WR to start opposite of Benjamin (Cotchery is a #3, and Avant is a slot) and we could have also upgraded the CB position earlier as well as taken an OT in the second instead of drafting for the future. I like Ealy, but let's face it, there will probably be a defensive end that slips next year that we could have taken then instead of now.

Error: grade not yet determined because none of these players have taken a snap in the NFL yet.

But where's the fun in that? Why can we judge players we know nothing about and probably never heard of before and make definitive opinions on them?

:p

I don't believe even you believe all the bs you just spewed. and i love kb by the way.

our first three picks are all going to be starters with serious all-pro potential and the other three round out our roster in positions of need (or positions that need salary cap relief/young blood as future starters.) there simply isn't a pick we made that doesn't make absolute sense for what we're trying to accomplish with this football team.

the reason it doesn't get an A or an A+ from me is because we didn't get a tackle, which is our most glaring need at this point. but as others have mentioned, the bitching would be just as bad if we'd picked up johnny pancake from lenoir community college and considered him a possible starter at tackle. as it stands, tackle is now our one single glaring need and we just freed up enough cap space to grab the best guy available (and possibly make a trade depending on how things shake up. that's the beauty of going BPA, sometimes you inadvertently end up with extra depth that allows you to make those kinds of moves.)

y'all cheer up.

First 3 picks were all As... Each is / would've been 1st rnd talent next year.... After that, who knows.... We were 1 pick away from getting Linwood DB... That would've been great.... Loved Kony pick add he'll learn from 2 of the best, get in NFL shape and take over 1 year from now while saving us money

I'd say B+.

Benjamin was a tremendous pick.

Ealy was a great pick, considering we will most likely lose either Hardy or CJ after this coming season (potentially both).

Turner is going to be great for us inside. Period. Haven't been this excited about an OL pickup since Kalil.

The rest are good, solid players that can contribute in some form. Either they'll see the field sparingly, if they earn it, or they'll at least keep the starters honest and provide competition. Either way, they improve this team. Also, adds a little depth to our secondary, which is something we need.

Could the draft had been better? Yeah, but only because some of the late round picks COULD have been spent at "needs". Instead, Gettleman went for value, which I think will yield better returns in time, even if they're not immediate.

I also think Tampa and NO hit home runs so that to me sets us back. With that said , I have over rated Tampa last year so that could have minimal value .

I fail to see how somebody else's draft makes your draft worse. If you draft based on how your competition drafts, you're an idiot. Oh, they drafted 3 WRs? Better draft a CB, even if the value and need aren't there.

There are never an guarantees, but

1.  KB - HUGE target for Cam.  Better yet, a good blocker for the running game, and, Gman says that 8 in the box will diminish greatly when he is on the field, helping the running game even more.

2. KE - A first round grade on a guy that can immediately work into our pass rush sets and has the possibility of letting us work through or get out of cap trouble with Kraken and CJ.  Our DLine being dominant is what makes the Panthers a dangerous team, at this point anyway.

3. TT - A starter on the right or left at the guard position at a minimum.  The competition for Amini and KGB, plus the assurance it gives us after they were both injured is a must.  Holes will be opened!

4. TB - I had this guy in the 6th, but, after reading and hearing more about him, I think we have him slated as a field general.  He can sit behind Harper for a couple seasons and then be able to direct traffic.  I figure he can make a lot of plays behind our front 7.

5. BB - Except for the injuries, this guy would have been taken a lot higher.  Guess he will be fine in the zone packages we run.

6. TG - Really came into his own this past season with 1700 yds.  Power runner.  I expect something might happen on June 1st, so stay tuned.

Overall I gave it a B.  OT's outside the top 4, were not that strong, but there will be cuts from other teams soon.

Offense took a step forward, not leaps, but steps.  Defense also got better.
