More on Norwell. His versatility could very well land him a spot on the team: http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/andrew_norwell_753549.html

Career Overview: Andrew Norwell is a two-time first-team all-Big Ten Conference offensive lineman who was a force for the Buckeyes along the offensive line for three consecutive years and through 39 consecutive starts ... played in 50 games during his career ... started his final 34 games at left guard ... part of a four-man quartet of seniors along the offensive line that collectively was considered the heart and soul of the 2013 Buckeyes ... Buckeye run game powered its way to 10 300-yard rushing games in 2012 and 2013, which is as many 300-yard games as Ohio State had in the previous 17 years and 201 games (dating back to 1996) ... graduated in May 2014 with his degree in communications.

Senior Season: Andrew started all 14 games, played 904 snaps from scrimmage and was named first-team all-Big Ten Conference for the second time ... helped power the Buckeyes to ranking fifth nationally in rushing in 2013 (308.6 yards per game) while shattering school records for points scored (637), touchdowns (87) and touchdown passes (38) ... the offense also scored the third-most rushing touchdowns in school history (45) ... additionally, Ohio State averaged an all-time program high 6.8 yards per carry and the offense was fourth nationally in red zone pct. (60 of 63; .952) ... Ohio State's running backs lost yards only 10 times all season ... named to the preseason watch lists for the Outland Trophy and the Rotary Lombardi Award.

Junior Season: Andrew was named first-team all-Big Ten Conference following the Buckeyes' undefeated 2012 season ... played more downs on offense - 862 - than any other Buckeye, and he played so well the Ohio State coaches named him the team's co-offensive lineman of the year ... he was on the line for a mind-boggling 827 of the team's 837 offensive plays (98.8 percent) from scrimmage last year ... Norwell & Co. helped the Ohio State offense average 242.2 yards per game rushing (10th nationally) in 2012, lead the Big Ten in scoring at 37.1 points per game and score a 34-year team high 37 rushing touchdowns.

Sophomore Season: Andrew played in and started all 13 games in 2011, starting at both the left guard and left tackle positions, and was named honorable mention all-Big Ten ... he started the season at left tackle for the first five games and then moved to left guard, where he started the final eight games.

Freshman Season: As a true freshman, Andrew was the primary backup at right tackle in 2010 and played in 11 games ... named to a Big Ten all-freshman team by Rivals.com.

Norwell and Brown are the 2 guys to look out for in preseason. Brown needs to beat out Pilares, McNutt, and King for the 6th WR spot. Norwell needs to prove he is good enough for us to move around spots somewhere else in order to keep him.

What you don't get is, in any competition it's not only what you're doing you should pay attention to. What the other guy is doing is as important. We have 3 teams in our division that are not willing to wait for our not reaching method to work. As far as my lack of expertise, well GMs are known to not be expert as well even though they have more resources available to them. For example, we don't have a single player in our 2009 and 2010 draft that are still on this team. That's 0 players out of 14 picks. That's not exactly expertise. Yea! Yea! yea! Hurney this, Hurney that, Gettleman is not guaranteed to be any better. So far he's been waiting for players to fall on his lap instead of making a GM move.

In every job or profession there is something they called doing the bare minimum. Right now Gettleman is just doing the bare minimum. He's afraid to make a move that can be proved as a failure in the future putting his job at risk. To him, nothing can go wrong if he just draft the players that are available to him. The bare minimum. No risk, no reward, guaranteeing him a prolong shelf life as a GM. Until of course we go 0-6 in division. Gettleman will sure abandon his so-called method once he's on the hot seat and address needs of the team.

First of all last i checked the Carolina Panthers won the NFCS.  And what happen to Atantia when they traded up for Julio Jones.  Oh they got a great player but they lost a ton of depth and it showed when Jones went down.

Yep no arguments hear about HURNEY AND 2009 and 10.  That is why he got canned.  Until Gettleman does the same I will continue to believe he will get the job done just as he did last year.

As far as doing the bare minimum you are so far off base you must be thinking of a different GM.  While he hasn't dove in and scooped up that big named free agent.  He has added smart tough football players to our team.  I would say taking a team 7-9 to 12-4 is pretty damn good.

The method you speak so poorly of has won the Giants at minimum 2 Super Bowls.  And if you think logically, which obviously you aren't, It makes perfect sense.  Look at the SF game last year.  Blackburn goes down and had we not taken the BPA Klien doesn't come in and make those plays.  We may have lost that game.

BPA gives you the best players on your team.  Sooner or later that BPA is going to be a position of need.  Watch after G-man gets the salary cap under control.  We will grab BPA 95% of the time and fill those soft spots with solid free agents.  We might every now and then grab a top tier but I am betting we don't.

Bottom line you don't have a clue WTF you are talking about and ARE A TROLL.

lighten up Francis everyone has their own opinion and are entitled to it.

Thanks Sally, I will remember that.

Opinions yes no problem.

I wanted to know his credentials.  You call out the GM about how shitty his draft was I would like to know what makes him more knowledgeable.  Hell give me a good answer and I might join his bandwagon. (NOT)

Gettleman is doing the bare minimum? Good grief, you are aware that Gettleman has a PROVEN record as a 'grinder' and puts in more hours than anyone else? Let's try to stay in reality-ville.

That's what I'm afraid of, seeing them play. lol

Then don't go to the panther games...don't watch the panthers on TV... Go pull for team that you think has a GM and front office that's as smart you. Problem soved! I for one can't wait to watch them play, support and encourage them.

Apparently they're just tryouts

Don't know if this has been posted but we are also giving former wvu running back Noel Devine a tryout.

http://wvupros.com/2014/05/11/noel-devine-tryout-carolina-panthers/

I would LOVE if Devine could somehow workout here. I've been following his career since he was around 16 and his highlight reel hit the internet.  Deion Sanders tried to adopt the kid and mentor him,but that didn't workout.  The guy is small, but he could be the answer at KR/PR to replace Ginn.
