We had reported he would get a shot at nickel. Rivera won't say if he's a starter at CB. "All about competition"

Steve Reed ‏@SteveReedAP 13s

Rivera said he wanted to give Godfrey a fair shot.

Joe Person ‏@josephperson 41s

Rivera says Godfrey is not yet 100 percent. And moving to him was about competition.

I think we'll be fine with Benjamin, Cotchery, Avant in the slot, and Underwood as the vertical threat. If King/McNutt or any UDFA's contribute it'll be a plus but I don't think we're as bad as many think at WR.

Granted, much depends on how Benjamin plays as a rookie.

We have like 6WR on the roster but our leading WR last year in Olsen making it 7. Any rookie drafted in the later rounds is as good as McNutt and King (who are probably ahead cos they have had time to get into the playbook). It seems some people just want to see their favorite college WR on the panthers.

I am in the minority, but I think with the addition of Benjamin, Cotchery, and Avant along with the development of King and McNutt, that we are better at WR than last year.

Hard not to be better than 29th in the league. I think we see more production as well
