A bust? Barner a bust? A 6th rounder a bust? Wtf?!

Barner And gaffney are your two backs that compliment each other, who are going to replace the aweful contracts of double trouble. Stew and Williams are first out.

Gaffney and Barner could easily replace the production of double trouble. We should rid these contracts as soon as feasible because of that.

How can you call barner a bust when he had no chance to see the field?

If you're forced to pay guys millions more than they are worth, you should at least play them. I'm glad they sat barner. Gave him time to prepare mentally and physically for the NFL

well the 8 times Barner seen the field as a RB he looked like a child among men, Barner has no size to him and he showed why he was drafted in the 6th..

I had high hopes when we drafted Barner but he has shown nothing that says he is a NFL RB, I hope to eat crow on this. I thought he could be like Sproles but the only thing he has on him is 3 inches. Stewart was out for most of the year and Barner couldn't take that from him.

Barner is gone or IR.

Williams has been our most consistent running back so far, though admittedly that isn't necessarily saying much considering the circumstances. Stewart hasn't proven he can even stay healthy yet, Barner has looked lost and can't hold onto the football, and Gaffney hasn't even taken a snap in the NFL yet. Unless Stewart/Barner/Gaffney go off and show out big in the preseason, Williams is not going anywhere. Plain and simple. I think some people are still sour about comments Deangelo has made, but that doesn't change the facts of the current situation with our roster.

    • Bryce put it in a spot only his guy could get it only for David Moore to drop it. T_T Tremble and Horn both struggled yesterday and that killed me since they're two of my favourite players. Tommy knows he has to come down with this one. Folks were understandably saying that JT would've caught that had he not gotten hurt a few plays earlier. The more I look at this play, the more I think that Bryce made the right decision throwing it out the back of the endzone. He could have tried to laser it in to Thielen, but that safety is lurking awfully close inside. Insuring the field goal here after a 44sec drive to end the half was the right move.
    • Except Bryce was the main reason we were in it
    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
