Did Peps go another game without 1 f'ing tackle??? Please explain to me how he wants 18 million or whatever they are saying when he disappears several games a year?

Do you know anything about football???? This is the wrong forum to come spew this fuging ignorance around. People will rip you apart and you deserve it as much as Peppers deserves his contract.

Pep had a good game yesterday from what I could see. He applied some good pressure on passing plays and I saw him force the runner back into a tackler more than once last night. Is he the best pass rusher to ever play the game? Probably not. Is the one of the most complete defensive ends in the game right now? I think so.

Furthermore I've always told people that defensive linemen simply cannot be judged by statistics. Their job is not to make tackles or sack the quarterback. Their job is to maintain gaps and rush the passer. You can have an amazing game and not record a single meaningful statistic. Likewise, you can have a horrible game and walk into a sack due to pressure from a teammate flushing the QB right into you. You have to watch a defensive lineman on a play-by-play basis to determine how well he is playing.

Peppers is the best DE in the league, regardless of stats, and deserves every penny of being the highest paid if he so chooses...

That said, he'll play here for a lot less than any other team in the league, so I expect that he won't be going anywhere, and might not end up being the highest paid DE afterall...

The man gets held and double teamed on pretty much every play and, even so, still manages to get pressure on the QB.. Not only that, but he's just as good as 90% of LB's in the league at covering short pass routes...

Edit: Oh I forgot.. /thread

Several reporters mentioned the Tampa game as the biggest in our franchise outside of the playoffs. Where does this Giants game fit into our history now? I believe for whats at stake it moves to the top spot.

1. What game were you watching? I don't have to explain because everyone else has. Pay the man!

2. I do believe that the Tampa game was the biggest of this year for us thus far. It allowed us to take first place and est. dominace in the South. It also sets us up for the rest of the season. Playing tampa as well as we did show'd our Offense that they can do whatever they want. Huge confidence boost.

If you looked at yesterdays game, Peppers was being held all game long.. Every moron in the U.S. who says Pep is not worth the money is a complete idiot... He is a game changer, he can change the momentum of a game with a blink of an eye, if you dont see that then you are not a true football fan or Panthers fan of that matter. Look at his stats over the years, name a more dominant force in the league then Peppers??? Every offense going against the Panthers every week have to change up schemes to accomodate for this guy, just like they have to with Smith... If that is something to be proud of i do not know what is... Peppers and Smith are the face of the Panthers and I do not see either of them playing anywhere else...

peppers was playing against one of the best, if not the best LTs in the league right now. Clady is a beast. if being a rookie means that you are supposed to be playing at a lower level someone forgot to tell him that. the guy has only allowed .5 sack this year and has had to deal with the likes of abraham and joey porter.

i don't feel too bad about peppers lack of numbers yesterday. he's still a beast and we still one. paycheck shouldn't be based on just one game, good or bad.

More hatin' on Peps... I'm used to it by now...

He had pressure several times and yes Chaos is correct... them keying on him opens up opportunities for other guys and Johnson, Brayton and Davis took advantage of it.

I saw one play where Peps bull rushed Clady and literally lifted him up off the ground... but yeah, he sucks.

Clady was also holding pep alot too but I think the tuck rule once enforced allows the offense to do anything it likes.

maybe you didn't hear the announcers comment about how they thought Clady was not only the best rookie at the position but might be THE best in the league already......then they made a point to say they were glad we was finally getting worked over by someone (refering to Peppers).....a lack of highlight plays and individual numbers doesn't mean Pep didn't have a great game.
