The Charlotte hornets draft... Jabari Parker

We have had top 5 picks in the past and those "sure thing" and "can't miss" picks didn't produce an elite superstar. So what makes you think some punk with one year of college experience is a franchise savior?

It's almost comical how y'all would gut a team for a supposed superstar that hasn't proved anything. Named one instance where a team gutted their franchise for a pick and it worked out in the end?

Who have we drafted that was considered a can't miss or a sure thing?

My thought exactly. MKG was top five in a horrendous draft. Charlotte has never gotten a high draft pick in a year where there was a can't miss prospect.

Really charlotte's only chance to ever land an elite talent in the draft is when they could have traded the 5 (Felton) and 13 (May) picks for 3 (CP3). They fuged that one up.

Agreed. They definitely messed that up.

Ok afore is the only player I can think of that "may" have fit the "can't miss" bill. But even the drop off from Howard to him was obviously huge.

Huge drop off.

I still remember Dick V and that group saying Okafor was the better pick. Lmao.

I would like to have Jabari, but not by mortgaging that much of the future.  He's probably an instant 20 ppg scorer, but what else does he do?  Great offense, decent rebounder, but he's a horrible defender.  He could be a great piece to a puzzle, but you better have a Serge Ibaka type defender in the paint and somebody on the wing that can provide great help defense.  Give me Rodney Hood or PJ Hairston at #9, because I really think those guys are a piece to the Hornets being a contender for the 3rd, 4th or 5th seed in the East.

...And Adreian Payne at #24 wouldn't hurt either  :thumbsu:

This is coming from a Duke fan.
