Gettleman wants to grab a corner tommorow

Why is this news to you if you're a gamecocks fan? You seem to know about his recruiting history, so you'd know that he originally committed to Florida who then withdrew their offer after he got kicked off our rival's team. That's how he wound up with USC. He was arrested for underage drinking (but who didn't drink underage), kicked off of USC's team then re-instated with a 3-game suspension and most recently was arrested in February over a dispute with his own sister. Vic has pretty much been kicked off of every team he's ever played for.

Like I knew he did some bad stuff but I saw them as mistakes, not who he really is. I was probably blinded by my fandom.

I don't like his lack of sense of urgency. He's building too far for the future.

One of CJ and Hardy won't be here after this season. I'm hoping Hardy gets re-signed long-term and we make CJ a cap casualty after this season simply due to the age factor. I'd much rather keep Hardy because he's just now entering his prime while a CJ is likely on the tail end of his prime. Ealy was drafted to be a starter after this season. Would you rather draft a 1st round talent at the bottom of the 2nd this year and give him a year to learn under the best pair of DEs in the league or would you rather be scrambling out of desperation next year knowing that you'll either have your whole cap tied up in DEs again or that you're going to have a big hole at DE after letting CJ walk?

As far as the Trai Turner pick, I would've preferred an OT, but Turner will probably start for us this year. We've had a huge hole at RG now for years.

What is wrong with with surrounding your QB with talent! Don't get why this fanbase hate that concept.

What was the KB and Turner pick for? Both those picks(especially KB)will help Cam a lot on the offensive side of the ball. The Kony pick was strictly one for thee future and the draft is still not over yet.

If we could bypass the 2014 season and go directly to 2015 then you'd be right. 2014 is there and it counts. We're not a rebuilding team, it's time to put some chips on the table. Our division got so much better, we can't afford to draft 2nd rounders to come and sit down. Only a few teams can afford that luxury and we're not one.

On the bright side 2015 could be a great draft year if we end up 4th in the division. I'm young, I have time.

Our division got better on paper but that doesn't mean it'll translate on the field. The teams that have long-term success in the NFL are rarely the teams that make big splashes in free agency. You almost always have to overpay to lure in top shelf free agents and that usually comes home to roost.
