CHARLOTTE – The Panthers used their third-round draft pick, 92nd overall, to beef up their offensive line with the selection of Louisiana State guard Trai Turner.

Turner was an second-team All-Southeastern Conference selection this past season after starting all 13 games at right guard for the Tigers. The 6-3, 316-pounder started 20 games at right guard over two seasons in Baton Rogue.

Steve Reed @SteveReedAP

Gettleman said injuries to Kugbila and Silatolu played a role in decision to draft a guard. Rivera says Amini is further ahead than Edmund.

Black & Blue Review @BlackBlueReview

DG says Turner is strictly a guard. Doesn’t have the length to be a tackle.

Also, DG will be at his sons graduation for Day 3 and will use skype to stay in contact with the War Room.
