As much as Carolinacoolin and other guys want to preach about this guy, the report right now by Ian Rappoport is that Cyrus is off at least 20 teams' boards all together, due to his knee.

@NFL_CFB: . @RapSheet says he's hearing Kouandjio off the board of about 20 teams (knee concerns). Says #Redskins team to watch w/ him.

There is concern from Alabama's team doctor, but only on the long term.

@RapSheet: Talked to #Bama doc Lyle Cain about Cyrus Kouandjio, who is off many boards. Said: No short-term concerns for cartilage wear. Only long-term

CarolinaCoolin so mad right now.  He's probably furiously working the phones to ESPN, NFLN, and individual team offices to let them know how stupid they are and how he knows for a FACT that there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with Cyrus Kouandjio's knees!!!  Dr. James Andrews said so dammit!!!

I wonder what they mean by long term?

Probably that the injury concern is there, but four, or so, years in the future. Much the same thing we heard about bowers when he came out of Clemson.

Good question.  Is "long term" 3-5 years, 10 years, 20+ years?  Hell, everyone that big is going to have long-term knee issues.  I have to assume that it's "long term" in terms of his football career which I would interpret to be closer to that 3-5 number.  I know Charlie Casserly said he'd take him if his medical staff was saying that he was good for 3-5 years and I assume a lot of GMs would agree with that at some point in the draft, but where is that point?  2nd round?  3rd?  Even later?

    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
    • This was evident first two weeks of season. I don’t see any issues with physical tools since he came back. I think he is a player that must play with confidence to overcome those size limitations and he’s doing that.
    • Still 3-10 on passes over 15 yards.  At least he's not scared to merely attempt them anymore.  Where I see improvement is the 10-15 yard range.  He was 6-6.  Bryce of old was scatter shot on anything beyond 10 yards and the further out, the worse the accuracy.
