The more things change...: The media hate begins (A few draft grades)

The Huddle makes me laugh...hate Lafell cause he drops too many balls, we draft a guy who has the exact same hands as him...yet no mention.

We should've gone Lee. A proven WR not a one hit wonder

If you think Benjamin is Lafell, you don't know a damned thing about football.

Sure LaFell made some drops, but the main hate for him was entrenched in his inability to get separation. Benjamin has such a large catch radius, he will always be open in single coverage. We will not have to scheme to get him open.

Furthermore, Benjamin has been criticized for dropping "routine catches", but known for making some "clutch" catches and game winning catches.

On my second point, sure the lines may be a bit blurrier, but to my first point, there is no comparison. No one is comparing Benjamin to LaFell.

He IS trying to compare Benjamin to LaFell, which shows how truly idiotic he is. They are nothing alike and those comparisons are ridiculous. Benjamin should provide an immediate impact in the red zone (exactly what we fuging needed baby) and has amazing potential in te middle of the field. I see it as a risky pick, but I absolutely love it. He, in my eyes and apparently G-man's, has by far the highest ceiling of the WRs this draft. Whether he'll live up to that? I don't know. But damn am I excited to see what happens. Hoping for 20 tds rookie season, screw Moss' record.

Isn't concentrating in clutch moments just as hard?

It's either you can catch or you can't. And he reminds me of Lafell.

Don't get me wrong, I want him to prove me wrong but I just wish we had taken Lee

If I'm not mistaken didn't he make the game winning catch to beat auburn in the national championship, and I believe gettleman said he made the scouts look into if he made clutch catches in critical moments of games and found that he was always the go to guy ...very different than laflop

Funny how Walter Football had Benjamin slotted to SF at 29 for two months the and it was a great selection because "SF needs a big target for Kaepernick that can stretch the field, and Benjamin fits the bill", but now that we pick him a 'trusted source' says he's a mid round pick that can't run.

That guy is a fuging joke.

Give him a few months and you'll be the first one making a bad ass KB highlight video.

Give it time grasshopper.

That evil Scam wasn't supposed to get a premiere player over a paragon of leadership and modesty like Colin Kaepernick

Lol at one hit wonder.  Lafell and Benjamin can't be compared.....if Lafell had the size of Benjamin....maybe.   Mind you we've picked "proven" receivers from Southern Cal before and it hasn't worked out.   Marquise Lee doesn't provide the same mismatches that KB does for us.  Not to say he's a bad player...I said previously he might be more polished from a fundamental perspective, but his ceiling is 60 percent of what KB's is.   A veteran corner can shut down Lee especially year one.....a veteran corner might do everything right against KB but he'll still catch it.

Just like basketball.  Chris Kaman might be better fundamentally then Dwight Howard....but who wins?

I was compelled by the little documentary they did on Marquise Lee too, but he's a player that will do well when the D is focusing on shutting down the other receivers on his team.   If we already had a guy like Benjamin......Lee would be perfect for us because we could exploit the D for focusing on stopping KB, but we don't.
