Realistic Expectations for Kelvin Benjamin This Season

Recommended Posts

well my speculation is way better than yours lol

we cut our entire wr corp. there is certainly a chance that 10 of those tds from our wr group last yr find a home with him this yr. that is NOT far fetched. am i being overly optimistic, yes, but thats me and this is an opinion driven board and my opinion is he will step up sooner than later and in a big way.

The vets are gonna get there's bc they run good routes and know the NFL game.....so I wouldn't just allot all the TDs to a raw rookie

obviously the vets will get theirs but i believe they will be best used in between the 20's and once we sniff the redzone, raw rookie or not,  he gets the nod.  being raw is a knock on him yes but that all goes out the window the instant we see red and his natural talent takes over.

I believe he won't have a lot of yards.

I just don't feel he'll be that explosive out of the gate.

Knowing he'll start his rookie year, which makes comparisons the plex moot, he'll get many targets.

He's going to be a huge redzone threat.

I'd be honestly surprised if he has more than 45 catches.

Would NOT be surprised if he had at least 10 td's.

Best option for a running team in the redzone is often lots of running too

50/750/7

5 blindside pancake blocks in the run game

1 pissed off Captain Munnerlyn looking for a flag after every catch

Legions of crying NFCS rival fans

I legitimately believe that to be fair. With his height and Cam at QB 5 of those TDs should be jump ball red zone grabs.

agreed but again thats obvious.

having him lined up will pull guys from the box and help the run game.  that will translate to more production in the redzone and stats over the yr but it wont stop there.  he will be used and utilized plenty and will see many chances for him to put up 6.

san fran game is still fresh and we couldnt rent a bulldozer to get us in the endzone that day.  i know its because of our patched o-line but we still havent fully addressed that yet.  maybe after the dust settles and we see what we have to work with after the draft and into the summer months i might change my stance but for right now he is a pure TD machine for us and you cant talk me out of it.
