I don't think so. I think he'd be happy with it and would accept it. He had been pulling down #1 WR for us for a decade and had no help outside of Moose. I think he wanted to be in the slot, and that would've been a perfect situation for us. Unfortunately what he was due to make the 2 years after this year was way too much.

 

 

we'll never know for sure, but i read somewhere (can't remember exactly where) that part of the reason we decided to part ways with Smith, besides his cost versus production, was that he wasn't a good mentor for young receivers

I don't think he means forget Smitty in the literal sense. He's implying that KB is going to help make it a litter easier to move away from Smitty. 

 

I think he's right. Regardless, I would be perfectly happy to not have to compare anyone to Steve ever again.
