David Newton with a bold prediction

Mr. Scot

think thats the issue though, steve would have reacted poorly to a round 1 receiver

I don't think so. I think he'd be happy with it and would accept it. He had been pulling down #1 WR for us for a decade and had no help outside of Moose. I think he wanted to be in the slot, and that would've been a perfect situation for us. Unfortunately what he was due to make the 2 years after this year was way too much.

I like what KB said to the reporters in the conference call about all of this. He said he wasn't here to replace Smith. He said he had nothing but respect for Smitty and that he will always be a great receiver in his eyes. He's here to be KB. That's all we can and should expect from him.

Also, Kelvin mentioned how he is a young receiver who is coming into the league and has a lot of areas that he can improve and, what I gathered overall, is that he's eager to come in and earn his keep and help Cam and this team in any way that he can.

KB is saying the right things and doing the right things (staying at home for the draft, being humble towards coaches and FO personnel, being humble to media). He's coming to town tomorrow. The players seem absolutely thrilled to have him.

This is probably the most exciting player we've gotten here since Cam. He can be big time.

God I can't wait for August.

Montsta makes a bold prediction:

Kelvin Benjamin has more yards, touchdowns, and receptions as a rookie than Steve Smith did in his final year here. Probably more than Smitty has in Baltimore this year as well.

Oh by the way, I like David as a reporter but this article wasn't needed and he obviously did it because it will get hits.

lol how dare Newton do his job, a write up on the first round draft pick hours after the draft, a pick that has been needed for years...

Smith shouldn't even be in the conversation. Why does it have to be about that? Smith is hands down the best WR we have ever had. But his time has unfortunately come to an end (at least with us it has). Now KB has come to finish where he left off and we should support him every step of the way. It shouldn't be about OHHHHH KB is here to make us forget about Smith...What kind of crap is that? lol

You can do a write up on the pick without mentioning a player that's no longer on the roster... it's actually quite easy.

Steve Smith has nothing to do with Kelvin Benjamin and putting the two in the same sentence is disrespectful to both.

Smitty is unforgettable and irreplaceable. That being said, it's time to move on and move on we have. I'm starting to warm to KB. He's massive. Massive. Good size to catch Cam's high throws. I hope he's a quick study though. Still wanted Cooks. Bad.
