Not feeling good right now....

Da fug aint no one worried about this guys vert? Megatron has like 10inches on him for comparison.

My only solace is that he has some serious potential simply due to size.

No, nor should anyone be. Its a COMPLETE non-issue as vertical can be gained through workouts. ALL of his faults can be corrected, every singly one of em. But the dude is f'ing 6'5, 240 lbs. That cant be taught. Dude is going to be a stud and was easily the best player on the board at the time, which is why he came off at 28.

if he works on his release even slightly he is a 4.5 guy, which is fantastic for someone who is 6'5. he isn't slow, he just doesn't come off the blocks as well as he could. this will improve.

No way to know if he was BPA until after a few years. Will be interesting to see who has a better year between KB, Robinson, and Lee.

All I know about his vertical is that the player he caught the winning TD of the BCS Championship Game OVER THE TOP OF, one of my own beloved Auburn Tigers (DB Chris Davis, Hero of the Iron Bowl), has a 40.5 inch vertical.

Sometimes strength, size, and positioning mean more than a statistical measurement.

Most NFL DBs are gonna have 5-8 inches on him vert wise which is gonna somewhat negate his height or lessen that advantage.

I just cant get over how poor his vert is. One of the first things that stand out on his film. Looks like he is getting minimal lift off the ground.

32.5" is not a poor vertical.  Especially for a guy who is 6'5" 240#.

Let's compare it to the top two DBs this year:

Gilbert = 35.5"

Dennard = 36"

Still pooing bricks?  The top CB in the draft and #8 overall pick has 3" of vertical over KB and is giving up 5" of height and a ton of reach.

This.  You see a ton of guards in basketball with 38"+ vertical leaps, but they're rarely great rebounders.  Going up and getting jump balls in football is similar to rebounding in basketball.  It's about strength, size, positioning, and timing.  If a guy is bigger than you and has better timing than you, it's pretty much a wrap.  Not much you can do about it.

We have this guy, Ricky Proehl, as our WR coach. One of the greatest technicians of all time. He will teach young Mr. Benjamin.

And if Kelvin doesn't step up then the league better prepared to get McNutted on.

Who has he developed on our roster?
