So I've been kicking around the idea that the 6th and 7th round is pointless

Oh hey linvillegeorge did you forget your keys or were you just bullshitting about the whole "I'm out" spiel

I would expect someone who couldn't accurately read a screenname to concoct the hair brained schemes that you've outlined in this thread.

I got baited back in trying to explain myself to someone else.  I gave up on you.

Lol what?

He's is simply saying that the typical players who would get drafted high in the first round would find a way to avoid the draft and immediately become a free agent where teams would have to bid the highest to get them. This would eliminate the rookie pay scale and the blue chip rookies would start getting paid like they did pre rookie wage scale except not to the team with the highest pick, but the deepest pockets, which would also eliminate the parody of the draft all together.

If you had an option as a highly sought after rookie to enter the NFL draft or you had an out where you could skip the draft and enter free agency, what route would you take?

It's not that hard to figure out.

Maybe you haven't noticed but there is a reason players don't do this now and that wouldn't change by altering something that has no pertinence to those reasons.

That reason is the supplemental draft.  They don't become free agents.  OP is arguing to eliminate that reason.

I'm sure when the league implemented the supplemental draft in 1977 they were anticipating clowney skipping the draft so he can sign with Denver

It's about as much as I care to go back and fix the autocorrect since I haven't noticed you making a good point since you started posting here

Beautiful irony coming from the starter of this gem of a thread.  And no one actually believes that "linvillegeorge" is pre-programmed into your autocorrect.  This poo is so weak.

1. I haven't ever seen you come up with a good OP so keep telling us about your evaluation of thread creating and original ideas

2. Weak shitposters deserve weak excuses. Now get the fug out of the thread and start popping those pep pills now so you have enough alertness to get you through Saturday
