28. CAROLINA PANTHERS - Kelvin Benjamin (WR, Florida State)

I think Carolina will be very tempted to take an offensive tackle here as a replacement for Jordan Gross, but it all depends on who is still on the board at this point. On the other hand, the wide receiver position is an absolute wasteland right now in Carolina, so the Panthers need to spend a few early picks upgrading the position. Kelvin Benjamin has a few red flags associated with him, but he'd be an immediate starter in Carolina.

You can't read too much into what coaches and GMs say leading up to a draft, but KB really doesn't seem to fit the mold of what Rivera and Gettleman are looking for in the 1st round.  Rivera has talked about polish and Gettleman has talked a lot about finding a guy who can contribute immediately.  I'm not sure if KB is either.  In terms of route running, he's pretty damn raw.  He's an impressive physical specimen, I'm just not sure he fits what we're looking for.

I personally love Benjamin! Don't think GMan will take a WR in he first with as many questions as Benjamin though. But I hope soooo

We have one of the best route runners of all time as our receivers coach. The reason i say take benjamin is because all his flaws and weaknesses are correctable. Route running improves with coaching and practice, being a physical freak who attacks the ball in the air is something you either have or you dont. Benjamin has the highest ceiling in the draft for receivers other than Evans IMO

Just wondering, but why do you think that Benjamin and Evans have a higher ceiling than Watkins?
