REPORT: Joel Bitonio will be the pick at 28

There's no such thing as "fact" when projecting NFL prospects, that's why there's busts and steals every single year.

I am still trumped over comparing an O-lineman to a WR and CB. Lee seems like he will be lucky to play a full season and Dennard seems descent, but most likely over rated. Does 28 seem early for Bitonio? Yes. But he seems to be a sure starter.....RG at worst

Bitonio won't be a bust, you can guarantee that, at worst case scenario he can slide inside and be a hell of a guard but at 28 do you really want a player that may not be one of our top three needs.

well i'd say guard is our fourth biggest need.

22 reps isn't something to sneeze at, and watching him you can tell he has very good functional strength. Plus he has the frame to put on 5-10 healthy lbs on, via a NFL level strength and conditioning program once he makes football his full-time job.

Oh I'm not sneezing at it because I can't even do one rep, but his strength is definitely not on par with some of the other projected left tackles.

I would like to find a nice median (strength and agility), that is why I prefer going with Cam Flemming in the second.

Fourth or Fifth depending on how you value defensive end.

I'd also put WR at X2 meaning that I probably wouldn't address guard until around 5th or 6th which would be a good round to grab Brandon Thomas (projected second rounder, falling due to tearing his ACL).

i know it's gonna be tough to resign him; but still there's no way i'm putting de as a higher need than og when we still have cj and hardy on the roster.  olb has a stronge argument.

I'm iffy about this one. Before watching that 20 min breakdown of his film I was all on board. Bitonio is a great run blocker, no doubt about that but he is inconsistent in pass pro. I noticed he tends to drop his head and stop his feet while engaged with a defender. He shows flashes of a dominate player but he's inconsistent. If we take him, I feel like gettlemen will be going against his philosophy " you reach you get screwed"

Not saying he won't pan out I just highly doubt he will be the bpa once we pick.
