REPORT: Joel Bitonio will be the pick at 28

Exactly what Medellin was saying, i dont want to replace Gross with another 6'4 small LT and i dont want to replace Smitty with another 5'9 receiver. I would rather swing for the fences on Cyrus K or Moses. If they end up being good it would be that much more significant because they have the size and strength to go with it. We are just small on offense period, we need to get bigger.

I'd be okay with it. Bitonio is the type of player who can come in day one, and we say, okay, where do we need help? Is Silatolu still hurt? Then LG. How poorly is Bell doing? Then RT. Etc.

Swinging for the fences causes more strikeouts than home runs. Any decent baseball player will tell you that.

Home runs are hit because of patience and technique. Not sheer power and size. Your baseball analogy seems to be working against you.

Even here, it applies. Moses could be a great player in the draft, he could also be gone by the time we pick. He could also be a massive bust. As far as Cyrus goes, sure he has the talent, but obviously the team has questions about him if he's on the board and we take Bitonio.

In terms of stature and physical tools, Moses seems pretty ideal as an NFL LT.  I didn't watch many UVA games this year though, so I honestly don't really know how good of an OT he is.  I've seen some people rave about him and others who seemed none too impressed.  One thing on his side though is that UVA has had some good recent success of providing successful NFL OTs.

I think Moses will be a good NFL player. Above average. But only at RT. I don't think he has the ability to play the LT in the NFL, because he gets beat very easily by speed because he is so massive.

He's a run dominator, though. He's going to brute force you off the ball with strength and size. He basically can just swallow up a defender.

Nobody talked about this guy until after the combine, and that's usually not a good thing.  He would be a huge stretch at 28.  I'd take him in the 3rd because he might become an OK starter, which is what you want from a 3rd round pick.  28 seems ridiculously high and I hope it doesn't happen.
