REPORT: Joel Bitonio will be the pick at 28

Mayock has him as a T, Mayock is very accurate when it comes to OL. If he comes to Carolina it'll be as a tackle. Look at his numbers compared to Gross and then tell me why he can't play T.

Mayock seems to think of him pretty highly, idk where all this talk of him only being able to play guard is coming from when most scouts say he is a solid to great OT

Most of everyone is also saying that Moses is light on his feet. Which he isn't, he's very sluggish laterally and struggles with speed/agility rushers.

So, watch a bit and make your own opinion instead of going off draft sites. There's a ton of misinformation on prospects, even at major sites.

Lol at telling me to watch a bit. You are talking to someone who doesnt even read draft analysis. Only reason I know what they say about Bitonio is from this forum.

I have watched Bitonio, for me he is not ideal size wise. Doesn't mean he wont be good however. His film looks pretty solid.

If I could have my way id draft Cyrus and Turner and call it a day at OL.

Moses is not very sluggish nor struggles with speed rushers. If he was he wouldnt be considered a 1st round pick nor would rank in the top 3-5 of all the OL pressure / sack stats.

From watching Moses, his feet are not as quick as Cyrus or Turner, but he still rarely gives up pressure.

With all this said, I could live with any of Moses, Bitonio, Cyrus, James, Fleming, Turner, etc.

I guess I just wish we could get a stud at wide out come on get Cam a great receiver he can have for his career. This is the draft to do it. We need a LT though and this is really our last chance to fill that void.

He handled Anthony Barr one on one this past season. However at the Senior Bowl they moved him inside and he played very well.

I think he's a very capable OT who also brings a lot of versatility, something I'm sure DG covets.

But his size is almos tidentical to our just retired Pro-Bowl LT.....so, your reason for not thinking he is LT material is flawed.

Gross:

6'5"

300

5.05 40

28 reps

31.5" vertical

112" broad jump

4.39 20 yard shuttle

7.69 3 cone

Bitonio:

6'4"

302

4.97 40

22 reps

32" vertical

114" broad jump

4.44 20 yard shuttle

7.37 3 cone

As you can see, Gross and Bitonio compare very favorably physically and athletically with the big differences being that Gross was significantly stronger while Bitonio is slightly more explosive, more agile, and quicker.

No, lol.

That is like saying you can't have concerns over a small WR and point to Smitty.

In a perfect world you want guys that a bigger, faster, and stronger than your competition.

Hence the word "ideal".

The fact of the matter is Bitonio is simply not as big as you would like your T's to be. This doesn't mean he can't be good.

I can't reveal my sources, but I've heard that the Panthers absolutely will draft Greg Robinson if he's available at 28.

Yeah no poo they'll draft a top 5 overall player if he's still on the board unless he has an advanced case of syphilis
