REPORT: Joel Bitonio will be the pick at 28

Mayock said on his draft special he thinks Oakland will trade up for our pick and we'll take bitonio with their 2nd round pick. I like this much better.

I would not have a problem with that.

The value is good, at 36, plus we get two extra picks.

Those two extra picks could also allow us to take a chance on some of the guys that fell due to injury (Hurst and Thomas).

All this trade down talk...I just don't see it happening unless the perfect scenario comes up.

Gettleman has said before that when you trade down you talk yourself out of selecting a good player that is the highest on your board.

When asked about trading up, Gettleman responded "It's how much you're willing to give up...it's looking at the board too. But thinking that you're one player away gets you in trouble. It's about value. Is it possible? Anything is possible."

I see us more likely moving up 2-5 slots to secure a player we really like that can step in and help us immediately than trading down. I think ultimately we stay put at 28...but I'd say we are more likely to move a bit ever so slightly than to trade back into the second.

this thread will be bumped in the future so i can remind you once dennard and/or lee proves themselves better

So now you're giving yourself an and/or option? Even if both turn out better, it won't make your initial statement anymore true. No matter what, there are no sure things in prospect evaluations.
