What the fug is wrong with this country.

 

Short answer: "A lot."

 

In this specific instance; our celebrity/spectator/social media culture. In this instance, a gaggle of teens thought it was more important to film a fight, rather than protect the well-being of two people, and encourage them to work out their issues without violence. There were enough people there to restrain them from fighting, if they didn't all have phones in their hands.

 

And then, after the fact, the primary concern of the parties immediately involved was to make sure that the appropriate person got credit for sharing the video of someone being seriously injured by putting the disclaimer *Original* in the YouTube title. "Everyone has to know it was ME that put getting a viral video on the Internet above the health and safety of two people! I don't want any other jerks to steal the views of my video away from me! Mine is the ORIGINAL horrible act of violence video. Celebrate ME! Praise ME for uploading it!"

 

I have this horrible premonition that the last thing I'm going to see before I die is 10 onlookers filming me on their smartphones dying in the street. No one helping me. Just going, "Oh poo! Did you see that poo? Man, that dude totally got hit by that car, man! That's crazy, yo!"

 

Seriously. fug millennials.

Worst thing about the video was the one air-waster walking through the chicken coop without any shoes.  Should be beaten for that if nothing else.
