Panthers meet with Ryan Shazier

Recommended Posts

is that not the reason why Keek and TD are on the field? Keek coverage skills are improving and i would feel very comfortable with him playing a TE, as long as he had Safety help over top.

name another team that has been consistently picked LBs in the 1st round? Steelers have 2, but one is an OLB in a 3-4 which plays more as a DE in a 4-3. Timmons is a 1st rounder. Seattle does not have a 1st round LB starting.

I don't want him in the first round. But I would understand it if the circumstances played out a certain way.

You're not allowed to do that, Rum.

You have to pick one favorite guy and if they don't take him, you throw a temper tantrum, declare how nobody on the team knows anything and they don't want to win and then pick a new team to cheer for.

Whether or not that pick turns out to be the right call down the road is irrelevant.

Speaking of temper tantrums..

Jimmy Clausen was the highest rated player left on the board.

dont wanna be like that darn Hurney and draft bpa. best to just try and improve the team the conventional way, like other succesful franchises.

if it plays that certain way, im pretty sure a guy who would be close in value to Shaizer in a position of need will still be on the board. plus like someone else said, if he is elite, he will be gone before the pick. i do not see 27 teams picking based on strictly needs.

The Panthers would be wise to inflate any value of players to get them drafted in front of them.

Like Brandon Cooks and Marquise Lee are there when the Saints pick and a team trades in front of the Panther to draft Shazier..Panthers were targeting a WR all along get the Saints, who need a WR and OL outta the way.

Also he is a good player so the potential smokescreen may not be dismissed too quickly. Like if we brought in Manziel and Bridgewater no one would take that seriously.

The linebacker BPA fetish crowd is like the fat guy who smells like piss hogging the roulette table in atlantic city so he can bet red or black every round.

Shazier is best described as an athletic linebacker. Well gee, that's a very rare skill attribute. I've only heard people use this term to describe a few players like Lavonte David, Jon Beason, Thomas Davis, Sean Weatherspoon, Zach Brown, Alec Ogletree, Dontay Moch, Pat Angerer, Jerod Mayo, ...should I keep going? Next year there will be another two Ryan Shaziers, and in 2016, maybe another four worthy of a 2nd round pick or more.

WRs and OTs are bigger risks than drafting a guy and seeing whether or not he can accumulate 100 tackles for a few years before he blows a ligament years before he hits 30 and never returns to form, but when it works out, a WR or OT can anchor your teams for years beyond anything a plug and play coverage linebacker can give. Gettleman's a high roller, and this last minute meet and greet isn't any indication that LB is the direction we're going in, so stop assuming he's going to be the only blue chip player available at 28 and get your piss encrusted shorts and fanny pack off the roulette table.

Shazier will be an awesome pick for us if we can somehow work Purdue, Illinois, and Indiana in to our schedule.

Hahahah! You're lack of talent evaluation and ACC narrowmindedness is laughable. Tell your GF to call me when she's fed up with your dumba$$.

Shazier's a stud. Bring him on.
