Panthers meet with Ryan Shazier

i think most of us not doubting Shaizer ability to be a good player, but just the idea of of picking another LB in the 1st round. this roster is already unbalanced at some positions and consistently picking the same position in the 1st will widen that gap even  more.plus i want this guy in the 6th or 7th round

hiw many snaps does the LB not named keuchly or davis get? we don't keep 3 LBs on the field all that much. when i said 30-40 snaps, i didn't mean because he's a developmental guy. i meant because we don't use 3 LBs nearly as much as we do 5 guys in the secondary.

and if shazier is as good as everyone in here is touting him to be, why in the world would he be available at 28? we aren't the only ones who buy into this BPA philosophy and we aren't nthat much better than the other teams draft rooms. is there some kind of health or character concern we don't know about? if there isn't then why would he be there unless he really isn't nthat much better than the guys he'd be on the board with and/or the value just isn't there, even if he's a perennial probowler or whatever.

We would keep 3 on the field more with shazier because his coverage skills are ridiculous. He's basically a corner in a gigantic body.

Shazier would change our defense. Do I want him in the first? No. But if the talent isn't there ad like others have said the ots and Wrs left are comparable to 2nd and 3 rd round talent. Why reach?

I think you need to look this guy up more. He is a freak of nature and I would honestly be shocked if he's there at 28. My prediction: hell have a better career than Khalil Mack

I'm not worried about TD's knees anymore. He's proven that he can play at a high level without issues.

My concern is that he is getting older and really expensive cap wise.

Luke will get a new deal soon and you absolutely cannot have two LB's making over $10MM per year.

He still a LB Rum. No matter what he won't be better then a DB at coverage of WR'S and TE's.

I don't want Shazier to be the pick, unless he's legitimately the best player available when our pick comes up.

is that not the reason why Keek and TD are on the field? Keek coverage skills are improving and i would feel very comfortable with him playing a TE, as long as he had Safety help over top.

 

name another team that has been consistently picked LBs in the 1st round? Steelers have 2, but one is an OLB in a 3-4 which plays more as a DE in a 4-3. Timmons is a 1st rounder. Seattle does not have a 1st round LB starting.
