Mr. Scot

When healthy he's a beast, no doubt Stewie causes opposing defenses lots of trouble him and DWill together causes ...

Double Trouble.

So your saying the trouble doubles? Hopefully his music career will take off when we eventually cut him.

they mention his base salary like it's supposed to make us feel better about him being here, but the truth is we just have no choice but to keep him here and hope that he miraculously gets and stays healthy and productive. we are trapped by his contract.

williams isnt great, but he's at least been useful. it's a shame that between the two if them, if either one was to get cut it would be the one who wasn't relegated to permanent bike riding.

So how is a 6 million cap hit for Deangelo Williams that horrific.  And Stewart's cap hit this year is only 4,585.000.  Together than is less than 1/13 of the cap.  It is not the reason we are hurting for cap space this year but is always the same tired reason fans say we are so hurting.  As far as cap hits go among running backs- Williams is 8th on the list and Stewart is 11th.  For a team which is committed to running as much as we do, how would you not have a significant amount of the cap devoted to running backs.  We need 2 guys who can start not a starter and a backup.  What makes Stewart cap hit so bad is that he hasn't played much in 2 years but if he comes back with a vengence his money will be well spent this year.  The last 2 years, not so much.......................

And no with Cam running he is not the running game or the reason to not have a starting caliber type guy or two.

I think it's not the cap hit, but what we have to pay if we wanted to dump J stew. He can technically sit pretty and injured an be safe for a job simply because if we cut him we'd be in horrible shape.

Running backs have one of the shortest life spans for being serviceable. Dumping $$ and giving a long contract is stupid in my opinion. Even if we are a run first team. We're a defensive team overall anyways.
