Pre-Draft News Items

Mayock just did his mock and had us trading with the raiders for their 2, 4, and 6. I wouldn't be happy with this. Would need a 2 & a 3 from me

I just wasted 50 minutes watching this crap to see who he picked for us.

He had Benjamin to the Saints.

6 WR's were taken in the first, before our pick.

In this trade back situation Mayock has us taking Bitonio. If they go WR he said Latimer or Adams

Would be shocked if we traded up.

I would,  Not Gettleman's style.

@ProFootballTalk: ESPN analyst: Johnny Manziel's the top player on Cowboys' draft board http://t.co/cC9Q77ymKQ

Jerry let someone film his draft board again?

I don't think they should.  They have a fair number of needs, which usually is better served by more picks, not fewer.

I'm not that impressed with Ryan Grigson so far.  Mind you, giving up a first for Trent Richardson has a lot to do with that (talk about getting fleeced).

I constantly see this talk about "Gettleman's style" but I don't know how anyone really knows what his "style" is.  He only has a little over a year as an NFL GM under his belt and is just now going into his second draft and his first full NFL offseason.  Definitely not enough history there to draw any sort of conclusion about what his style is and we should all know by now that if a GM is talking about draft plans, he's probably lying.

I'm going by his own statements.

Gettleman compares trading down to 'exchanging a dollar for two dimes'.  Likewise, when he's been asked about trading up, he's not a fan of what you have to give up to do so.  That's also not a shock if you've ever listened to his Giants mentor, Ernie Accorsi, talk about drafting philosophy.

There are some GMs who love to trade (Hurney did, so did his mentor, Bobby Beathard) while others preach about value and patience.  Which philosophy is better? That's a whole debate in itself.

I acknowledge that our trading up or down most certainly could happen.  I just don't expect it.
