Charlotte still has some work to do as a sports town but it's getting better. The real problem here is obviously all the transplants down here from upstate NY and Ohio...but that's to be expected. If I moved to Seattle tomorrow I would still carry my team with me. But what really grinds my gears are the people that are born and raised in NC yet claim to be "die hard" Steelers, Cowboys, Redskins fans etc. People like that hillbilly moron from Lincolnton who calls WFNZ 3x a day talking about the Steelers and duke. That idiot probably can't find the state of Pennsylvania on a map.

I'm from Ohio. I've lived in NC for 20 years. I was born a Browns fan and adopted the Panthers as my team in '95. My 3 kids are part of the generation that will make us a football city. Go fug yourself if you think I'm part of the problem.

A Charlotte resident who also played in 185 consecutive games, has a nice bust in the Hall of Fame, and has been involved in with the NFL for what...almost 40 years now. I am pretty sure he is more qualified to know what a football city is than most.

At least you were one of the Ohioites smart enough to get out of that Godforsaken place. Kudos to you for doing it before Lebron made it cool.
