Yes you can but you'll be working atleast 12 hour days 6-7 days a week to do so. Not a great job for someone with a young child. STOP looking for commission based jobs.

Also moving from job to job to job isn't the best way to build a resume. Find somewhere where vertical movement is possible and work hard.

Not sure the argument that there are lots of successful people that smoke weed is a very valid one.  I mean, I'm sure there are.  But percentage-wise, do you think the percentage of stoners who are successful is equal to the percentage of non-stoners who are successful?

 

I guess we all judge based on our own experiences.  The people I grew up with in high school and college...the ones I know who are successful now either never smoked or quit soon after college.

 

*By the way, I'm not equating "successful" with salary.  I'm 44 and make less than 50 grand a year and I'm a high school teacher (and successful in all measures of the word besides salary).

I just got offered a job as a sales rep at a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram/Fiatt dealership and they need a piss test by Tuesday.

I am a medical marijuana patient and I smoke every day.

Should I,

A. Stop smoking this second and attempt to detox myself? If so what are the most effective ways you've heard?

B. Have my wife who is clean pee for me before and keep it over 90 degrees somehow...

A. No, you're wasting your time despite what anyone here will say.

 

B. Yes, put it in a lube/powder free condom and tape it to the inside of your leg or arm pit. Be sure to obtain the urine as close as you can to the testing time because over time it will become cloudy and that is another red flag and they will ask you for a re-test if it is cloudy.

 

C. It's doubtful you'll die from not smoking, deal with legal meds until you're clean, get a job, then go back to your marijuana.

From everything I have heard selling cars can be a miserable job and the 6 figure income guys are the 5% exception.

This is a good post and I appreciate it.

I have stopped smoking many times in my life and tried to replace it with things that you listed. I just always find myself smoking again because nothing really changes as far as my sleep issues or stress level. I also constantly remind myself that what I do isn't a bad thing and that very soon it will finally be excepted like its beginning to be. People that are really uneducated and against marijuana piss me off. I honestly feel like a homosexual living in the south sometimes and that I have to keep it a secret, even though what I'm doing doesn't harm anyone or myself.

I have a stable job and pays the bills but I'm always looking for more so when this opportunity came about I did the interview and bam, now I have a drug test in 4 days. Even if I didn't smoke every day I probably would've smoked a little with some friends over the weekend or something so this would still be an issue.

The thing is this isn't my dream job, and I have other opportunities that don't even require a drug test. So I'm REALLY not worried. This could just be one of the better gigs I've had and could potentially be something stable for a while. So I'm going to go through with trying to pass this test and then we'll see what the next chapter holds.

 

I've had these same issues..  If you haven't visited a functional doctor you haven't tried everything.  Go see one, in Cali they are most likely everywhere, probly next to a Starbucks..  

 

My adrenal glands seem to act up at night instead of during the day like most people.  My cortisol levels were way off balance too.  I was given Cortrex along with Calm's Forte and it's the only thing that's ever had a real impact.   Simple herbs but extremely effective.  

 

Look into this if you really want help and give it a few weeks...  I promise I am the most skeptical and it has had a major impact for me.  There may be other issues going on that they can help.

 

 

obviously exercise has tremendous benefits and there seems to be plenty of other good tips to enhance better balance.  I'd start with a functional doctor and try some of the other advice provided.

This.  Aside of the whole drug test part of the thread, this is more of advice:

 

Car sales in never never something I'd jump to and I'm right there around 50k in sales and design (42k base).  I mean I know people who floated between that, those Enterprise jobs, and inside sales outside of school but that's not something I'd want to get into at all.  Just not a fan of burn and turn environments unless you're getting some strong experience with a specific business skill-set in mind.  

 

Find a place with a strong vertical structure you can grow long term. That is unless you're looking for something else in the meantime before identifying a place to have a career.  Shoot for growth, viability, and something you won't hate in the long run.  If it's car sales then power to you.
