This is sport, everyone should get a fair chance to earn a spot on the team. I'm sure some UFA QB would love to be a back up to earn some dough and feed their family.

Every UFA QB (including Carr) does have a chance, and has had since March 11th. They'll have the same chance between now and September. If they're not signed, it has nothing to do with David Carr. It's because nobody wanted them (which is the same reason Carr is unemployed right now).

That's the way it is, and nothing about it reflects badly on the NFL.
