The thing you have to think about is that Steve Smith has never taken a play off be it game or practice in his entire career. He got beat, pure and simple. May be the only time he does, but he got beat, good for the Captain...

did anyone see the play? I mean, just b/c the throw was intended for Smith doesn't mean he was beat on the play (like several against AZ, Oak, etc.)......

I could see Smitty being a little cocky in camp and testing some young guys to see what they got.....and getting beat in the process.

I'd also like to see him do it against a taller receiver. SS is obviously amazing, but they're about equal in height. How would Captain do against a 6'2+ receiver?

Probably not very well, but rarely are slot/4th receivers that tall. So he should be in a fair match up most of the time.

CBs are usually smaller than the receiver and have to make up for it in skills.

Jason David was starting, be it for the Saints though........lol

well, you can look at photos from the AZ or Oak and make an argument only using the photo to someone who didn't see the game Smith got beat and it wasn't the throw........Smith could have been beat on that play.....Jake could have also tossed up a bad throw and Smith tried to come in over the top to try to make a play happen. I was just curious if anyone actually saw it.......

I mean did you see the hype the kid who "dunked" on LeBron got? That kid didn't dunk on LeBron....LeBron came over late to help out and the kid got the dunk.....once we saw the video it was a different story than what reports told.

For argument sake, the hype was never about the dunk, the hype was only because Lebron and Nike had the tapes confiscated. And knowing how journlists like their petty torments, they may have blown that story up because journlistic freedoms were infringed upon, and just did it to embarass Nike
