Shawn Merriman discusses opposing defenses playing Carolina...

I guess Shawn Merriman thinks that just because we draft a WR at #28 that all of a sudden NFL defenses are going to fear our receivers?

LOL

Guess what, Shawn?  If we draft Lee/Latimer/Adams at #28?  The NFL defenses are STILL going to do the same damn thing that you described.

before playing new england, panthers had a scoring offensive. during that game, the pats stacked the box and dared panthers to throw. after that each team did the same and the panthers had NO answers each week afterwards.

Get mad then get over it. My point is once that pick is made, you either get over it or wallow in misery for who knows how long. I vote to get over it.

So people have stop bitching about the Dwayne Jarrett, Everett Brown, Armanti Edwards, Eric Shelton, Jeff Otah, Tim Biakabatu, Rashard Anderson, and Jimmy C lausen picks and still talk about how dumb they were??

Or do we all just get over it??

Those are epic busts. Not because oh no we drafted a player at a position I didn't like

we went 5-1 after that... and we had a great game offensively against new england. though admittedly it was because cam is a god and had like six first down scrambles on 3rd down.

This. Whether or not I agree with the pick, I hope like hell that the guy turns out great because ultimately that's what's in everyone's best interests. I don't understand people who want guys to fail simply so that they can be right. I'd rather be wrong and cheer for a winner.

Nobody said they want the pick to fail we just hope they don't waste the pick on a position that wasn't needed.

I didn't want Armanti Edwards to fail I just wasn't surprised when he did.

I think Shawn feel like that one of the drafted WR have a better chance of being the type of WR'S that force teams not to play 8 or 9 in the box. Then the guys on the roster now who haven't developed into those types of WR'S.

He has a point.

There's two guys in this draft id trade up for and never regret it

You guys that have their feelings hurt about drafting a LB, get over it. Based on last season, Gettleman has my trust. I truly don't believe he takes a tier 2 Wr or a tier 2 OL at 28. Get ready to have your dreams crushed when a shazier, or Ealy type name is called on draft day.

Ealy or Shazier would be great picks and could really help the future of our defense I mean Thomas Davis is great but one injury to him and what happens to our defense? If we get Ealy then we would have possibly three great DEs and could let one go next year and still have a great front four. I really think we should try to trade down and get more picks so we could double up on the offensive line. A WR would be lovely but unless we can get cooks then we should trade down and pick up someone like Mathews or Adams in the second round.
