Hornets Expected To Target Arron Afflalo and Jameer Nelson (Also News On McBob and Big Al)

Why is that? Not trying to be condescending, seriously wanting your opinion.

I think Hayward gives us a better ballhandler, better passing, and better at creating in isolation situations. Not to mention he has better size and already has experience with Big Al, plus the whole part about him being 24 with room to improve whereas Afflalo is 29 and likely has peaked in his career arch.

Again, I'm a fan of Afflalo. He's a deadeye shooter and that would help this team. I just prefer Hayward over him, even if it means trading more and giving up more money.

I think Afflalo is tougher and stronger.

Just because we have cap space this year doesn't mean you have to spend all that money. Your logic is leaving us with issues with the ability to resign players that will be due for a raise in the 15/16 season.

We will have Kemba's and Biz's birdright's, we can spend up to the luxury tax to resign them. Notice that most of these teams in the playoffs are over the cap and still re-sign their own guys under the birdrights clause.

This team is going to have to spend money to be successful. They decided to forego building though the draft meaning that unless you spend money you will be stuck in a mediocre spot.

I think Orlando wants to get rid of Afflalo, they tried to ship him out earlier this year but I think they wanted a top 15 pick.

I think Hendo was #24 might do the trick because they are also saving $1.5 mil in salary.

Not exactly. They are saving money on next season. But I believe hendo will be under contract after next season.

Regardless, unless they win the lotto and draft wiggins. I don't see them taking that deal.

I could be wrong. I just don't sense an urgency to unload him if I am Orlando. He is very productive for his contract. They would be selling him while is value is high.

Ftr. I hope they would make your trade.

They were shopping him this season, quite fervently I might add.

Trading Afflalo might also allow Oladipo to be the primary shooting guard. Afflalo is 6'5" making him an undersized small forward and primarily a solid two guard.

And while Henderson is not on Afflalo's level, he's not top 10 pick worse than Afflalo.

If push comes to shove you can throw in Jeff Taylor or our 2nd round pick.

Look, I hope you are right.  But, I don't think Orlando would make this trade with them knowing that we have Detroit's pick in our pocket.

At 7.5 next year, and possibly 7.5 for 2015.  That contract is really workable.  Especially with the expanded cap.

But orlando doesn't need to dump salary... they only have 35 million counting towards that cap next season.
