Bitino is small and will need to be moved to guard, Cyrus has knee issues and Moses can block better than Byron bell

In my opinion guards need to be bigger and stronger than tackles. They are facing bigger DT's that are slower than DE's.

In which I dont get the idea of saying guys who are barely over 300 pounds needs to be moved to guard.

A lot of times it isn't always weight but body type and playing style. Bitonio is built like a block and plays aggressive. I do think that he has decent enough ability though to play tackle, but he would be an insanely good guard. He just has the tenacity to dominate inside, which is his strong point.

Same here.

Especially when the best OT in our history was just a hair above 300. I don't get it either honestly.

I agree to an extent. I could see him starting out at G if need be..but eventually making it to the outside. I may be a homer but think he's capable of both. Don't forget that offense at Nevada. They like athletic QBs and it's a highly regarded system pre-Polian.

True, but the pistol offense is reliant on getting the ball out quick. If it's there, throw, if it isn't, run. So lineman aren't left open to the same amount of exposure as they could be. But I feel the same way, Bitonio could likely make a living at tackle, but I think he could make the Pro Bowl at guard.

I definitely think it's meaningful that he protected Kaepernick's blindside for a bit before he went to the NFL.  I don't think he needs to start at guard at all.  He could start at RT and transition to LT.  He really can battle for any position on the line which is very important given we're trying to maximize the minimal line talent we have.

6-5, 315, 34 0/8 arms, 5.16 40, 7.92 3-cone drill, 25 bench reps

6-4, 302, 33 7/8 arms, 4.97 40, 7.37 3-cone drill, 22 bench reps

6-5, 308, 32 7/8 arms, 5.08 (unofficial) 40, 7.65 3-cone drill, 29 bench reps

6-5, 308, 33 3/8 arms, 5.07 40, 7.34 3-cone drill, 24 bench reps

Without looking, which is Joel Bitonio? Which is Jake Matthews? Which is Zack Martin? And which is Billy Turner?

no goggle. i do know bitonio is a great athlete so hes my top speed guy and martin is strong. just knowing that helps.

6-5, 315, 34 0/8 arms, 5.16 40, 7.92 3-cone drill, 25 bench reps- turner

6-4, 302, 33 7/8 arms, 4.97 40, 7.37 3-cone drill, 22 bench reps- bitonio

6-5, 308, 32 7/8 arms, 5.08 (unofficial) 40, 7.65 3-cone drill, 29 bench reps- martin

6-5, 308, 33 3/8 arms, 5.07 40, 7.34 3-cone drill, 24 bench reps- matthews

Cyrus - top out of the bunch grade-wise hes a 7.7 using 10 point scale. james andrews spent the last 20 years becoming ligament god, said "no knee issues". last two years hes ONLY missed ONE practice, didnt need to get a re-checkup in indy. hes 20 years old 320 LBs with LONNNG arms and plays with a nasty streak. of course he'd had a couple TERRIBLE games along with questionable workouts(the 2nd pro-day at bama he did well), three months ago we're talking about a guy that was in everyones top 10. huddle needs to realize picking at 28 means 27 other teams picked players before that and EVERYONE has question marks at 28th. panthers pick 28 not in the top five.

moses- 7.3 between bim and cryus not much difference, both HUGE long armed men that CAN play LT, even if its down the road, similar body, hes older.

bitonio- 6.4 hes still worth a first in my book but only late 20s at best. while the others could easily be picked in the teens. i believe hes starts as a OG, but has all the skill to be a OT. got badass in his blood.

from Rotowerld:

ESPN's Adam Caplan expects Nevada OL Joel Bitonio to be a top-50 selection in next week's draft.

That's on the safe side. Bitonio's stock has been steadily on the rise the past month-plus. Caplan reports most teams think Bitonio can play left tackle, right tackle, and both guard spots. Bitonio himself said teams view him as a guard or center. He worked out at all five positions at his Pro Day. Bitonio has a legitimate shot to go at the end of the first round. The Panthers are reportedly high on him.

Bitonio is the most tenacious, Cyrus has the most natural talent, Moses has the lowest bust probability. I love Moses in the 2nd but not at 28. But out of the three I would probably be most excited about Cyrus at 28 if he is ok healthwise. He is the youngest and has raw power and quick feet. But he is a project.

moses wont make it to #60 unfortunately

Convince me who's best among these three possible offensive line options at #28..

I like Moses just a little more than Bitonio.  Cyrus is intriguing, but I'm not a doctor.

Have you see the Nawrocki profile on Moses?  Has him as the 11th best OT and calls him "developmental".  Damn, this guy.

I like all of them. Bitonio is versatile. Can play inside and could try to play Tackle. Unfortunately his size is not what you want in a left tackle, or right tackle for that matter. He's till a formidable linemen.

Cyrus is just a mountain of a man, long arms, power. According to doctors his knee is fine but it won't be after several years. It will wear down so his life shelf is going to be very minimal. You're looking at 5-6 years before he's starting to see some serious damage.

Moses, is rough, but he's a specimen. He's probably the project of the three. Long arms as well, but lacks the feet.

I'd say to forgo all of them and take Ja'wuan James instead. The guy has everything, he's played Right Tackle most of his career but he has Left Tackle written all over him.

Tennessee's Ja'Wuan James is who I am leaning towards myself. From what I've seen he could truly come in and start now.
