Kawann Short - 2nd half improvement

My prediction...

Short will be recognized as one of the top 3 techs in the league within 2 years. He is crazy fast for a big man. Next to CJ and Star and Hardy, there is no reason he shouldn't rack up 6 sacks a year while remaining solid in run defense.

I honestly believe he will be every bit as good as Star (while recognizing they play different positions).

I liked the Short pick, but I have to admit I was somewhat bummed we didn't take Larry Warford when I heard Short's name called. I remember when we did the mock offseason last year that KK fell to the 3rd round and it pained me not to grab him since I was mocking for the Buccaneers and already had taken Star and had Gerald McCoy.

Most people saw KK as lazy given that some of his tape showed him not playing sideline to sideline. People didn't realize he was playing somewhere in the neighborhood of 87% of the snaps and played overweight because the team wanted him at NT. I knew once the weight came off and we got him in a rotation he'd excel, still would've loved Warford though.

What pains me the most was not having a third round pick last year(hurney trading away future picks). Warford and Keenan Allen both third round picks and both great

About Double dipping--we did last year, and does that mean we will this year?

Maybe.

When you research so many players at one position, you really get to know them.  If you think of it this way--Short and Star really aren't playing the same position--it helps.  If we double dipped at C, I would have been a bit confused.
