Who would've guessed Cam was clutch on third downs?

Not surprising but interesting nonetheless.

One of the things I find interesting is that there are only two teams that actually threw the ball far enough, that a reception was going to get you the 1st down.

Cam being among the leaders league wise, and ahead of ALL the so called young guns? Not so much.

Edit/ Although, as a disclaimer I'd like to add. If Foles is who he looks to be? He could be a good one. Just can't seem to decide how much credit he deserves. One year wonder? Or can he sustain the success?

Yards per attempt is just the total yards divided by pass attempts. Since some of those attempts weren't caught we have no idea how many yards were in play. Yards per completion is what you want to see in that scenario. Cams was 11.97,

Anyone who watched the games last year?

If not for Cam's 3rd down play last year, in turn saving or salvaging many drives for the putrid offense we often saw, we might not make the playoffs.

That's why it always annoyed me when the talking heads on ESPN would say "Cam's become more of a game manager this year...he's matured and realized he doesn't have to do everything himself." Um no, he just didn't turn the ball over as much and his stat totals weren't as high as his first 2 years. When it came time to actually move the offense on 3rd downs or late in the game, he put the team on his back week in and week out.

Edit: also lol at how terrible Flacco was on 3rd down

Thats just passing I'd like to see his numbers rushing on 3rd down thats typically when you see his highlight reel runs is on 3rd

Cam had 49 rushes for 295 yards last year. He converted 31 of those into first downs for a 63.3% conversion rate.

That was tops in the league, the closest guy to him was LeSean McCoy who converted 21 of 37 for a 56.8% conversion rate.

He did the same thing the previous year too. I imagine his rookie year also if I could find those stats.

So not only did Cam have the highest pass completion percentage on 3rd down and +9, he also converted almost twice/three times as many attempts as everyone else (bar McCoy) on the ground too.

Damn.

We all already knew it, but Cam really is a fuging one man offense. Need to get that man some help.
