Ok, so most of you should know by now that Earl Thomas got extended and is currently the highest paid safety in the league. So I went and watched some of his highlights. Man that guy has a FIRE in his belly, OMG! I feel like he must be on something.

 

Anyways, Mike Mitchell gave us something like that last year, an attitude, I'll not say we were soft the year before but we lacked what he brought. With him gone now, who will be our Earl on defense? Who can get the defense fired up and ready to destroy?

 

Luke would have been the best person, seeing that roar he did against the Ravens in last year's preseason game after that hit on Pearce? But he has said it himself that he is not that rah-rah type leader (oh how I wish). Who's going to step up this year?

We lost a lot of attitude and fire in the secondary with Mitchell and Munnerlyn leaving, but TD, Luke and Hardy are all very demonstrative.

I'm really not that worried about it on D, it's the O that scares me.

Earl Thomas is rare but I agree need to replace Mitchell's fire. One of the few players I was really upset left (not so much after hearing what he signed for)

Besides Kam is the enforcer in that secondary.

"Fire" means jack sh!t. There's plenty of good players who are quiet and plenty of "fiery" players that suck.

If you need examples, Cap'n Munnerlyn was passionate and mouthy, Luke and CJ are relatively low key. Give me the latter.
