Let Kemba walk

I see Big Al (maybe Kemba?) being hated on for defense by SuperJ in this thread. In the "FA wanting to come here thread", he bitches about not getting Harden (and Lillard somehow?). Have you seen James Harden EVER play defense? Lulz.

But Harden is a scorer and gets steals. Harden > Kemba

You have to realize who you are talking about. It's SuperJ for crying out loud. The youngest and dumbest member of the huddle

3-0 Heat

Yep, he just trollin around

Good offense is better than a good defense, that's why Charlotte, Chicago, and Indiana are on the brink of elimination.

We need a scorer, Curry can score.

Miami is the best defensive team in the NBA when they put in all their effort. they are back to back champs. San Antonio also has a very stout half court defense which is also why they have so much post season success

In defensive effieciency ratings, Chicago and Indiana are one and two (both on the brink of elimination) and Charlotte is sixth in defensive efficiency (one game away from elimination).

You have to sacrifice some, we have a lot of good defenders on the team in MKG, Henderson, Taylor, and McRoberts... we can afford to sacrifice a little to get some offense.

Fun Fact: Charlotte (24th), Chicago (27th), and Indiana (22nd) are the three worst offensive efficient teams in the playoffs... what does this mean? If you can't score, you won't win. We need to find a median between offense and defense.

The goal is to form a team like the Spurs, Clippers, or Thunder; who are ranked in the top 10 in both categories.

yeah but we both know that when it matters, Miami and the Spurs are top 3. They may not assert themselves in the regular season as much because they know their true goal. But in playoffs, they are top notch defensively.

I don't see how that makes a difference. San Antonio has a great offense to go with their great defense and Miami has two future HOF'ers.

The Bobcats are a one-dimensional defensive team, they can begin to fix that problem by going all in on Carmelo Anthony.

yeah i never said you didnt need both, but offense is not much more important than defense, or else the knicks would be in the playoffs

The Knicks were middle of the pack in offensive efficiency and very poor defensively... Not a recipe for success. You can make the playoff with one or the other being top notch but if both are average then you're in trouble (unless your Atlanta playing in the shitty eastern conference).

We need to find a median. I know this is a pipe dream but a line-up of Walker, Henderson, MKG, Melo, and Jefferson could work.

Indiana is tied in their series, that's hardly "brink of elimination." The fact that they're falling apart has nothing to do with their defense, but chemistry overall.

I won't say one aspect - offense or defense - is more important than the other, but I disagree that Miami's offense alone is the reason we lost. Their DEFENSE took away Kemba's passing lanes, cutting off Al in the second half and reducing Kemba's effectiveness, which forced other guys to make plays.

We didn't get blown out, we held them under 100. Sure, the fact that we couldn't keep up offensively hurts us, but that didn't keep us out of the first two games. When they really turned it on defensively, we just had no answer. The fact that our third scoring option has been invisible certainly doesn't help matters.

You pretty much just proved my point.

Miami's defense caused us to struggle meaning we couldn't keep up with them, so what does that mean?

WE NEED OFFENSIVE HELP!!!

Oh definitely. I just don't agree with one area being more important than another.

We absolutely need another scorer that's a legitimate three-point threat.
