Anyone else watch Vice?

I finally got HBO for Game of Thrones so I could watch the episodes live, and now I've been watching a lot of Vice now, great show and fascinating stuff. I honestly feel like I know more about whats going on in the world from their weekly episodes then you would know from a month of watching any of the 24 hour news channels.

Thoughts?

If you haven't watched this weeks Episode check it out, it's on the Legalization of Pot in America and issues North Korean Defectors have assimilating into South Korea, It's excellent.

There's another thread on this;

To repeat;

This is a rather humorous Bill Maher Produced thinly veiled opinion shaping machine.

Sure Bill Maher produces this but the story is played out in front of you. It needs backing by someone with deep pockets bc they travel in some dangerous places.

...i guess you go back to watching Fox then for the "objective" view?

Yeah I made a thread on this awhile back when they aired the n. Korea episode.

Love everything they do minus some stupid stuff I've read on my FB feed. I sent an application in with no response(naturally) but Shane smith is hunter s thompsonesque, fuging batshit crazy

Excellent show. Apparently david choe who was in the weed piece is on trouble for a 'rape story' he told. He also made $200 million from Facebook. Busy dude

just looked that up, he sounds like an asshole tbh

I love Vice. The show is awesome. One of their correspondents just got captured in Ukraine.

I like how people claim it's propaganda but I'm not seeing any bias in their reporting. If anyone has any examples I would love to review it

Vice is one of my favorite show. Not sure I really see much bias in any of the stories either. I'm definitely the opposite of a liberal democrat, but I enjoy watching Bill Maher . Even though I don't always agree with some of his arguments, I think he is pretty straightforward and lays info out in a way you can decide for yourself. I think his show I pretty balanced also because he often has politicians of dissenting opinion come and present the other side. Bottom line, I look forward to Vice on Friday nights. Now if you have a couple of hours to spare, the show has all of their segments on YouTube. Just be warned that once you go over there, you can be watching stuff for hours.

I think one needs to be a little batshit crazy to go where he goes and do some of what he does.

And I'll echo the sentiment posted a couple times before- I'm a Dem, although not a complete Lib, and Vice just puts it out there to be digested. As for Bill Maher, he simply produces (translated: money source) a bigger portion of Vice than anyone else. His show Real Time consistently features a relatively balanced panel from both sides of the political fence, and in that respect is better than anything else on.
