This. One more reason to hate those bastards.

Again, last year with Star we "screwed" their @zz.  EVERYONE wanted Star.  The only consensus this year is that there is no consensus.   At least a dozen legit possibilities.

If not for the Dickson pickup, I would really like this pick.  I'm not saying that Dickson will provide the same level of play that Ebron could, but you damn well better believe that Dickson will be giving 100% out there because his career is on the line.  Ebron, on the other hand, has a reputation for not trying when it comes to blocking.  And that bothers me.

I'd still be happy with this pick, because Ebron is more talented than a #28 overall should be, but I'm not sure it makes as much sense anymore now that we already acquired another pass-catching TE.

Couple years ago we drafted a MLB even though we had a pretty good one in Beason.  Then last year we went and picked up a DT in the second even though we picked one in the first.  Using this logic neither one of these moves makes sense...  All do respect, I dont agree with your logic.  If Ebron is there you dont overlook him just because you have a guy making Vet minimum and another (Olsen) with a huge cap hit.  Ebron is an impact player day one.  If he is there at 28 its a no brainer IMO.

Posted this in another thread, relevant here:

Seems to be a popular opinion among draft experts to over-value the TE position right now.

Lets look at the recent history of the first TEs off the board.

2013: #21 Tyler Eifert Bengals,

2012: #34 Coby Fleener Colts

2011: #47 Kyle Rudoph Vikings

2010: #21 Jermaine Gresham Bengals

2009: #20 Brandon Pettigrew Lions

Personally, I don't think any of these guys are top 10 in the league.

There's a reason why none of those guys went as high as Ebron is projected to go.

Not read much huh? Well tell me where else does he excel? Doesnt catch particularly well. Solid hands not great will drop balls not a good blocker so where does he win?

Have you ever posted anything remotely positive about... well, anything?

Jesus, you must be a miserable person.
