Of all the Wide receiver prospects.

Recommended Posts

Imma go with Latimer based off what i have heard since he jumped up the board. Did not drop a pass last season, Todd Mcshay said on ESPN he couldn't find no drops on his tape.

He is the guy I want if we go WR.

4.38 speed

23 reps bench press

Dis not drop a ball his last season

basketball player

6ft 2

He gives you everything you would want at WR

Below is an article from Bleacher Report explaining his rise up the boards

Which are the prospects with the best hands? Grabbing a prospect with great hands seems to be what we need. Besides speed and Catch radius. Having a sure handed wide out is essential. What is the consensus as far as which wide receivers catch everything thrown at them?

The first two are out of the question, we all know they will not fall to us and we aren't going to trade up either.

The rest? I believe we have a legitimate shot at drafting.  Respectively in the first and second round.

What other prospects have sure hands in this draft that can be selected in later rounds?

Jarvis Landry.

Best WR semi-flying under the radar? Jordan Matthews and he could be there in the 3rd...maybe..prolly safer to pull the trigger in the 2nd though.

Nah you are all good.

Just saying some of us old folk aren't full stupid.

I am but some of the others aren't.

haha i was leveling no accusations. and i certainly do NOT have a monopoly on common sense. i'll admit that im pretty new to alot of the deeper aspects of football. ive been a fan since 2003 but only the past two seasons have i really tried to dive in deep and really understand why things happen the way they do in the NFL. its been a fascinating ride that is far from over. for example, this is the first offseason that ive really paid attention to the free agent signings and potential additions in the draft.

i'll freely admit that i am learning. haha if that makes me stupid in the eyes of some, so be it.

I think it is highly unlikely that Cooks or Odell Beckham are available when we pick at 28. If any of the top WRs fall, I have a feeling the Saints will scoop them up one pick ahead of us.

so who will be there? I feel like people rate guys as first round talent( which I agree they are) but forget that the draft isn't just wrs. I only see 4-5 at the most being taken before we pick. One team may even pick latimer

WRs I think ultimately selected before our pick:

Sammy Watkins (top 3-5)

Mike Evans (top 10)

Odell Beckham Jr (top 15)

Brandin Cooks (top 20)

Cody Latimer (top 25)

Marqise Lee (Saints/top 27)

I think the most likely guy to with a borderline first round grade that will be available at our pick is Kelvin Benjamin. Marqise Lee has the potential to be there as well but I can see the Saints taking him because they too need a WR and they wouldn't mind taking the best receiver on the board one pick in front of us either. Then you have guys like Jordan Matthews, Allen Robinson, Davante Adams, and Donte Moncrief who would all likely be there at 28 but would it be a reach? Would we be better served going with another position or trading back into the early second?

When I think of what a team needs in a wr I dont think of it it terms of hands or speed or this or that. Its a threat level thing for me. In what way can this wideout kill you, gash you, bash you, or flat out embarrass you. The defense has to look at him and determine how they can contain him without giving up too much in other spaces. That, to me, if I was an offensive coordinator is what I would want. Loosen up your defense so I can land punches with my nasty RB's and omgwtfbbq QB.

I still would like to see another young speed receiver added to our roster.
