Sources in my head tell me that we do make a trade out of the 1st round. Some of these Qbs will be falling and teams at the start of the 2nd will want to jump up. Nice little time to grab a 3rd or 4th round pick and add some depth. Besides any one we take at 28 should still be there past 33.

 

 

Great point!  I think that the QBs this year are really going to slide.  I would love it if someone like Bridgewater fell down to the bottom of the first round.  You know cleveland and Jacksonville would be foaming at the mouth to get a hold of him.  There are a bunch of teams in our same boat as far as wanting/being able to trade back, so it could be super intersting on draft weekend to see what happens when our pic comes up.

 

Or G man could have a real man crush on someone, and he's going to get his man, trades be darned!

Jarvis Landry could be an interesting pick if he slips to us in the fourth.  He's got the sick hands to reel in those Newton lasers.

 

 

 

By any objective measure, Landry's combine was an absolute disaster. First, he measured in at only 5'11", a full two inches shorter than his listed height at LSU.

Things went downhill from there.

Landry's 40-yard dash time and broad jump were the worst among wide receivers. His vertical leap was the second-worst. Landry pulled out of the position drills, citing a pulled hamstring, but as Bleacher Report NFL National Lead Writer Matt Miller pointed out at the time, the damage was done:

I just find it funny how over the course of three months LaFell and Ginn have become top receivers in the league that can't be replaced.

Hurt at Combine.  That makes the numbers sketchy.  Dropped passes at Pro Day.  So what?

As a third or fourth rounder he would be worth a flier given that any time you find a contributor that low in the draft, you have a win.

Landry's stock has been skyrocketing lately. ive seen mocks with teams taking him in the 1st recently. i think he is a mid/late second round talent. and i do hope we draft him. i like the combo of Davante Adams and Landry

Yes, we lost the mortar and replaced it with spackling.  Losing the 3 Amigos from last year will create huge holes that Gettlemen is going to try to fill with mud.  Over 9 catches per game--gone forever.  What will we do?  Cotchery, Underwood, and Avant only combined for about 7 catches per game last year,  so we are talking about 2 balls per game---BEFORE we draft a stud rookie. 

 

Sounds like an upgrade that saved us a lot of cap money to me
