There is also supposedly a civil war statue at the bottom of the creek in Washington NC, that causes paranormal activity.

northcarolinaghosts.com Is a great site that shows a lot of the legends from different regions of NC. I have been to most of them. I also want to add the Old Henkelite Confederate Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Really creepy  residual sounds of gunfire, rebel yells, and drums. Also once you get back to your car it is supposed to not start. Trust me, you don't want to get stranded out there.

 

The bleeding tombstone on Miami Church Road in Concord is pretty interesting. The story behind it is horrible and sad. Not to mention the barn that is right there has a lifesized puppet sitting up in the top of the barn in the open area rocking in a rocking chair wearing a saw mask. That's pretty scary to see. Back behind that there is a devil worshipping shack where a lot of disgusting sacrifices have taken place. Pretty gruesome scene.

I can't find a decent picture of The Bleeding Tombstone other than one with just water on it? Is it supposed to have a red/bloodish tint or something?

An anthology I'm trying for is centered around that prompt. I'd choose the other state, but Fat Ass living there makes Louisiana conceptually repugnant to me. I'm looking for something honestly scary I think; the one concentrated website I've found dedicated to such things is more weird tales and ghost stories, so, if anyone has something better to offer, I'm all eyes.

I've got some scary first hand poo from the USS North Carolina. My best friends uncle was the night security dude and would let us come onboard and dick around below the touristy level. Dude has first hand stories of getting held down by ghosts.

Okay I will tell you about it. So I was with a friend hanging out one night at a place we always went to play pool and videos games and stuff. Everytime we had gone there we always heard voices. One time I heard 2 woman clearly talking to each other. We thought there must have been someone else there. It was late but we went to see and say hi or whatever. When we checked around nobody else was there. There were no cars in the parking lot. Also we would always hear what sound like someone thumping their finger on the wall right next to us. Lights would go on by themselves and door would open on their own. We never made any big deal over it. We didn't realize it was leading up to the scariest even that has ever happened to either of us. One night we were there hanging out and I had received a phone call from one of my managers at work. While I am talking on the phone I hear what sounds like a heavy wooden bookcase fall on a tile floor in another room close to me. I figured my friend must have done it. After I got on the phone I asked him about it and he said he thought I did it. We looked around and couldn't find anything that fell. Definitely nothing that would have been that loud. Also while I was on the phone I got this pain in my stomach like I have never felt. I just figured it was gas. It was probably the worse pain I have ever felt. It literally felt like there was a fire burning inside me and it got increasingly worse. It eventually made me completely unable to move as crazy as that sounds I ended up laying flat on my face in the hallway because I literally couldn't move. I kept trying but I couldn't. I sent my friend to get some help for me as I layed flat unable to move. While he was gone I was getting this crazy feeling that something was around me. I kept thinking I was hearing whispering near by but just figured I was imagining it. I was feeling a cold breeze all around me but just figured a door was cracked or something. Well, all of the sudden I felt sound strong grab my back and yell in the deepest scariest voice I have ever heard "GOOOOO!!!!!!" Then it tossed me against the wall on the other side of the hallway. I took off and ran out of the building screaming for my friend to follow me. He was freaking out and followed me out the door. He was asking me what the hell happened. I couldn't breathe and was just trying not to cry. I was completely shooken up. I explained to him what happened. Then we realized we left all of our stuff in the building right where that had happened. Phones, wallets, keys... So I asked if he would go back in and get the stuff and he looked at me like I was crazy and said he wasn't going in alone. So I pulled myself together and went back in. The whole time I was walking back there I was just telling whatever it was that I attacked me that I am getting my stuff and leaving. When we went back to that hallway to get our stuff  we both saw a black misty figure wisp around  the corner really fast and go down the other way. We got out of there as fast as we could. I couldn't believe what had happened that night. I never really believe anything like that was real or possible. I'm not sure what it was that attacked me. I always say demon, but I guess could have just been a really strong mean spirit. I have no idea. The weirdest part was it was at a church. The church both of us attended. I always wanted to tell the pastor of the church what had happened but never did. Never really told anyone for a long time. But for about a year about that incident I would have moments where I didn't even realize I was there and people around would say I would get a really scary evil look on my face and just stare at them really still for several minutes and then I would suddenly have violent random outbursts. I had no idea what was going on and it was freaking me the hell out. But anyways, that pretty much the whole story. Sorry it's so long.

Also, I've heard that the Cajun Queen over there in Elizabeth is haunted. 

 

I also have a friend who 10-12 years l older than I am, but he used to manage the building on East Blvd that is now known as JJ's Red Hots. It wasn't called this when he worked there (it's been several different places over the past decade) but he's told me a bunch of times that crazy, unexplained poo happened there, especially when they were closed. Restaurants can be creepy places when they are closed and no one is in there.  

How would you know if no one was there?
