  1. I didn't want Justin Herbert I didn't want Mac Jones I don't want Pickett So, I'm thinking Pickett might actually be decent.
  2. A lot of Twitter chatter about Pickett being the plan right now. Including from Jonathan Jones, which, means we're drafting Pickett.
  3. Ding ding ding. Best case, Cam holds up decent enough and gives Willis time to learn in an Alex Smith/Mahomes type scenario. Worst case, Cam is bad, but good for Willis to learn from, Willis goes trial by fire and we see whether or not he is "it" after playing him for half a season. Ready or not, he'll flash if he's worth keeping.
  4. Also, PLEASE let David fuging Tepper address the media/fans finally. It's time to hear from that SOB.
  5. Thank God it's over. Now draft Willis or trot Darnold's corpse out if we can't trade him for a ham sandwich.
  6. Oh well, shore up the line & keep making decent FA acquisitions. Don't just blow the leftover money. Draft an OT at 6, roll with Sam or a like-minded scrub, and let the new coach pick his QB.
  7. It's 2 AM and Tepper is leaving the bar with Matt Rhule and Sammy Darnold. Tough look for Brass Balls.
  8. If we don't get Watson, just roll Darnold or a rookie out there. If the rookie becomes our Josh Rosen on our path to a Top 3 pick next year, so be it.
  9. Honestly the only defenders I'm scared to lose are Horn & Chinn. Horn since he has lockdown CB potential, and Chinn frankly because he's a favorite. I don't like him at SS and want him back in his rookie role, but whatever. Burns is close to getting PAID to still suck against the run & miss half his sacks going for the FF. Brown has flashed, but also gotten benched. If we come out of the trade only losing those 2, I'm happy dancing.
  10. Tepper's silence on Rhule...actually because he's still been waiting on Deshaun to fire him. Whatta world.
  11. Now, if getting DW means Rhule is gone ASAP? How many first rounders y'all want again? Sure you don't want more? What else can we throw in?
  12. For the record, ZERO problem with having your franchise QB have input on coaching hires. BIG problem with handing them the keys to the entire decision. In this case though, since it means getting rid of Rhule, I'll allow it.
  13. Allbright reporting that Tepper has told DW he can pick the next HC. A. No. B. THEN WHY IS RHULE STILL EMPLOYED IN THE FIRST PLACE
  14. Eh, unless the owners want to have more guarantees in contracts, no chance the star players would let them take away the NTC. Sucks for your team when a player holds all the cards, but if you're that good & earn it, it's a right you should have. I mean, the draft itself is "weird". What other job outside of sports basically forces you to a certain city without a true choice in where you end up? Gotta be a little give & take on both sides. Would never happen, but part of me has always wondered what it would look like abolishing the draft entirely. Players get to decide from the start where they go as free agents, contracts handed out reflecting that as well. Player wants money? Welcome to Jacksonville. Player wants a certain team, live with the contract they offer you. Player's choice in all matters, and opens the doors for all teams to have their shot at every player. Again, would never happen, but then I think you could argue that a no-trade clause should be gotten rid of.
  15. As dumb as the Huddle can be, it's insane that as a collective, we could arguably draft better than the Panthers' brain trust has most years.
  16. Burns & Horn might be the only definite guys. Chinn should and probably would. DJ in the same boat if I had to guess, but could see a team arguing his contract is coming up, here's a 2nd. CMC is a 2nd rounder at best IMO.
  17. Would be beautiful weirdness to cap off the Rhule era if Deshaun spurns us because of Rhule, only for Tepper to fire Rhule now because he cost him Deshaun. Let's just get crazy with it at this point.
  18. I mean...what can NO even offer in the way of players? Picks, sure. But what players, that they haven't already restructured contracts for, are realistic options to send to satisfy Houston's demands? Watson will want Thomas (can't trade anyway with his dead cap), Kamara, and the OL left intact. Lattimore can't be moved after his restructure. Chauncy Gardner-Johnson the main player in their offer? Davenport & him?
  19. At this point, send the 3 firsts, send Burns & Brown, and call it a day. Find a way to keep Horn & Chinn, they're cheaper than Burns & for longer. Just end it already, please.
  20. People here thought a 3rd for Robby lol. 5th round at best was always the scenario after his year & his dumb contract.
  21. The trade price would be easier to digest if we had our 2nd and 3rd this year (thanks, Darnold & Henderson). I'm completely fine with 3 1sts for a franchise QB. I'm not necessarily cool with adding a couple cornerstones of our defense to that 3 firsts. Take a Derrick Brown or YGM level guy or two if you want. Chinn, Horn, Burns? Ehhhh no.
  22. Also, would be nice if this could chill out until closer to the draft. Let the Eagles fall in love with someone & trade up to #6. Turning #6 into a couple first round picks to send the Texans this year sure as hell could soften the blow of no first rounder in '22, '23, or '24 for us.
  23. I don't mind the draft picks as much as some, I'm mostly balking at the players at this point. Derrick Brown, take him. But if we're giving up multiple guys that include a combo of Chinn, Horn, Burns? Yeesh. Losing Reddick already, probably losing Gilmore/DJax. What's going to be left of our defense? YGM, Luvu, Shaq? THE Bravvion Roy? Not sure we can count on Henderson just yet. Keith Taylor about to be CB1? Offense better find a way to score 40 a game, because our defense is officially hot garbage again. Suleiman hopefully knows some Saints level cap tricks as well, because we're going to need them to even fill out a roster.
  24. I still don't get the "plan" as far as Rhule goes if there even is one with this. If Watson comes in, he's either suspended and/or our team has been depleted. Rhule going to get to use that as an excuse to get another year? If Watson is Tepper's call, then why is Rhule even here at this point? To coach a Watson-less while suspended team and be given an excuse? Going all in on Watson...only to fire our coaching staff as we've left our cupboards bare for the next guy? Nothing this team does makes a damn bit of sense when Tepper or Rhule are involved.
