When he's on, he's an MVP candidate. But like others have said, you might only get that for 8 weeks a year at this point. He walks in and makes us a contender, but for how long? We have to draft and pray we hit a franchise guy. You can swing & miss in the draft for a couple of years if need be and it doesn't kill your future. You can't swing & miss on a huge FA/trade QB who will sign an insane contract and comes with the heightened injury risk.

Honestly, McDaniel may be the best case scenario? No doubt Harbaugh could come in here and turn it around, but he also may piss everyone off by year 3 and leave. Get McDaniel, bet on him being brilliant, and pay to keep him here forever.

Being in the dumpster fire that is the NFC South and getting the other dumpster fire of the AFC South on our schedule is a Christmas blessing to bring along a rookie QB. Plus, the Vikings outside of their dome. Rodgers-less Packers potential. Lions being the Lions and hopefully reverting back to their historical mean. Bears are the Bears. *Should* be a friendly schedule at first glance.

Ah yes, the everyday 28 year old breaking into the NBA. Hope nobody throws him an alley-oop, he'll lose the ball in the lights.

Matt Rhule Hired as Nebraska’s New HC
CarolinaNCSU replied to Prowler2k18's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hope he turns it around and wants another shot at the NFL in 5-7 years. And that hopefully New Orleans or Atlanta will be interested. -
Part of me honestly thinks Darnold isn't done here and will be our vet QB next year. 3rd string/backup, but still here.

If season ended today which QB would you take.
CarolinaNCSU replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
1. Young and pray he doesn't break in half 2. Stroud 3. Richardson. If the future staff thinks they can Josh Allen him and mold him, take the risk. If he sucks, we get Maye the next year. -
Would love #2. We either take the QB that doesn't go 1, or trade down with someone like the Lions who could be looking at a Top 5 pick and another top 15 or so pick.
-
I get both sides of this (should've traded & not), but with Burns seemingly growing into a leader we NEED on defense, I also don't love trading him. Defense has a potentially elite young core and he's hopefully the leader for years to come. I'd love the cap savings & draft picks, but you're also hitting the reset button on some of the (possibly) overrated intangibles & locker room influence.

Playing his way down to our 1st rounder after we make the playoffs is all
-
Unless somebody comes offering a QB level trade package, Burns is here to stay and that's a good thing. 1st rounders are enticing, but established guys who have proven it are even better. I'd rather have 1 Brian Burns than 1 Shaq Thompson & 1 Vernon Butler for instance. And yeah, 2 first rounders could turn into 2 of the greatest players in the history of the game, but they could also be busts. Established guy who's grown into a leader on a young defense? I'll take that.

This roster is in better shape than the Giants and look at what Daboll has done there...with a bad to mediocre QB. I don't buy that this is a huge rebuild in the least. A competent coach and we may be a .500 team. A competent coach and decent QB and we're in the playoffs.

Would I talk myself into it? Sure. Is he my favorite guy? No. Would I trade draft picks, and likely our first for him? fug no.

Next step: Get rid of Robby Anderson
CarolinaNCSU replied to electro's horse's topic in Carolina Panthers
Please. Get rid of every single "Rhule guy" by next year. He brainwashed too many of these dudes into thinking losing is okay and part of a process. Need to get guys like TMJ and Shi those reps and see if they have it or not. -
Whatta Monday!
-
Nebraska, Wisconsin, Auburn, whoever...come take Rhule ASAP. It's all song & dance right now. He knows he's gone, Tepper knows he's gone...it's just Tepper wanting to save money and say Rhule left so they can agree on a lesser buyout or some poo.
-
Will Anderson in the 1st. Sam Hartman at QB in the 2nd.
-
Girlfriend has been begging to go to a game for a couple of years now. Won't do it until Rhule is gone and the shitshow if somewhat corrected. Joke of a team & organization right now. Sundays are basically spent hate-watching and wondering when we'll screw up. Sucks, but it's Week 5 and I'm already in offseason mode.
-
Honestly, let's just shuffle all of Rhule's QBs in until he's fired. Give Darnold a start. Give PJ a start. Bring Teddy back. Let's play the "hits".

Is it fair to discuss trading CMC / DJ
CarolinaNCSU replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Money hurts too much. But IF the team and Burns aren't going to be able to agree on an extension? He should be sent to the highest bidder in a week or two. -
This is the last week for me to watch and hope for a win. Lose this one and I'll still be watching...and hoping Rhule makes a bigger clown out of himself each and every week until Tepper fires him and the purge begins.

Robbie Anderson: Fans shouldn't bring negative energy
CarolinaNCSU replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is what scares me. Don't think we're going to be as quick of a rebuild as some will hope, because we're going to have to purge a lot of players who have become accustomed to having no expectations when the next coach comes in.
