Texans now indicate Deshaun Watson is available for trade
CarolinaNCSU replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
First things first, until the investigation is done you CAN'T make this deal. Idiotic and desperate if you do, and you'll end up paying the premium price the Texans still seem to want. I can't imagine a scenario where they actually still get 3 first rounders+, and I doubt any teams will actually offer that right now. Trading for a franchise QB around the trade deadline seems like a crazy move, but it also might make the most sense in this scenario. Say DW is suspended 6 games, serves it, and it gives teams like the Panthers, Dolphins, Eagles, Broncos, etc. time to see if their QB experiment is working or not. As for the Panthers, Darnold also has to be part of the trade. If he's not working out here, send him to Houston as their new tank commander and guy they can start next year before their rookie QB takes over. I don't know whether we should be involved or not, but I imagine we will be no matter how people here feel about it. Getting Watson makes us an almost instant contender, and Tepper is going to like that a lot. IF you want DW, hope that Hurts & Tua look good early, and that Darnold & 2 1st rounders gets it done. -
Panthers Cap Space (This Season) After Moton Deal
CarolinaNCSU replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Roll it over barring some hot start and Darnold looking legit. Then, get crazy at the trade deadline if you want. Spending just because you have space, on a team that's still possibly a QB (and more) away, is how you suck for a prolonged period of time. -
New uniforms coming next year to give us this opportunity then.

Eight Carolina Panthers Who Could Have a Break Out 2021 Season
CarolinaNCSU replied to KatsAzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
Really hope the Huddle can be patient (ha) with Horn. Article mentioned rookie CBs struggles like Ramsey, and there will probably be games this year where Horn gives up a big play or drive-extending dumb penalty. Hoping by the end of the year he's settled in and becomes the lock down guy we need in 2022. Also going to need DJ to finally get the national recognition he deserves. We've always known he's a borderline Top 10 WR, but a few extra TDs this year and maybe he'll get the respect he deserves. -
Former NFL LB makes Bold Statement on Panthers Defense
CarolinaNCSU replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only thing that "should" stop this defense is the injury bug. If they stay healthy and progress as they should, they have the potential to be nasty. Learn to get off the field on 3rd down and create a few more turnovers and honestly Top 5 this year could happen IMO. -
2021 Carolina Panthers Schedule and some thoughts on it
CarolinaNCSU replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Backend of the schedule is brutal. Hopefully can take advantage of the September and October slate. 4 or 5 wins in the last 9 games might be a best case scenario. -
"Should" be a nice confidence boost game and have Sam ready to roll Week 1 for a little revenge. Hope it can parlay us into a nice start to the year.

Double dip SEC CB's, select Tyson Campbell in round 2
CarolinaNCSU replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we go defense again in the 2nd or 3rd, Snow has no excuses next year and our defense better ball the fug out. With the contract situation of many guys on our offense, we can't literally go 10+ picks ignoring the offense. This is the same offense that may lose Robby Anderson next year, need to replace most of the OL, may not have found an answer at TE...and still may need a QB. If we want to become the Bears, we're doing a great job. But the offense has to get an infusion of young talent and quick. -
We got better, but hard to be excited

Glazer saying Sewell won't make it past 6 between Cincy and Miami. Might be why we're going up?
-
Please let Sewell fall into our laps ala Star back in the day. Just put all the craziness to rest and give us our LT for the next decade.
-
If we end up with Mac Jones or Farley at 8, the hamsters better be working overdrive or this place will blow up
-
Please God let us hit on this pick.

What Are You Going To Be Upset About If We Draft A
CarolinaNCSU replied to OceanPanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Trading back and drafting Farley is officially the worst case scenario. Hope the dude thrives in the NFL, but please no injured CBs. Donte seems to always have something linger, Bouye is getting old and injured, and a 1st round injured guy to top it all off? Please God no. -
Draft Fields Re-sign Cam next year as mentor/back-up as he rides off into retirement

Peter King has us taking Justin Fields
CarolinaNCSU replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
Rapoport said similar on the Rich Eisen show with a caveat. He can't tell if the Panthers actually want Fields (said Tepper was pushing for him), or if we're just running a smokescreen to get someone to trade above us for him and push somebody down to us. Feel like maybe McShay said similar recently as well. -
Apparently these were almost our uniforms
CarolinaNCSU replied to Cdparr7's topic in Carolina Panthers
90s logos and uniforms are amazing. Those however, are downright hideous. -
I'm officially getting nervous Mac Jones isn't the 49ers pick at 3. If he falls to 8, with Sewell/Slater/trade downs being options and we take Mac Jones? Oo wee mayne

Just finished it, pretty fun watch. If nothing else, it's great for the nostalgia and just seeing those characters again.

The Ringer's mock draft had an interesting trade. Drops a little further than I'd like (trade with Washington), but could be a nice haul... Projected trade: Washington trades nos. 19, 74, and 82, plus a 2022 first-round pick, to the Panthers for no. 8 overall. Getting 74 & 82, PLUS a 1st rounder next year, while still maybe getting the #3 or 4 OT on our board (this scenario has Vera-Tucker and Jenkins left) or CB at 19 would be nice.

Joe Person on Panthers plans for #8 pick
CarolinaNCSU replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
FIelds or OT at 8 please and thanks unless our doors are absolutely blown off with a trade down option. The defense should be good, even with CB being a weakness. Can't fix it all this year, and offense is quickly going to be the issue over the defense if big moves aren't made there, especially in the future. -
Hopefully the doctors have it right and he outgrows it/has no issue managing it. Can't help but continue to feel like he drops enough for the Patriots to trade up and get him, he sits behind Cam for half a season at least, and then makes everyone who passed on him look dumb.

1st Round Draft Pick for the Panthers
CarolinaNCSU replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
I want a LT at 8, but I no longer think we stay there unless Pitts is there. So, we will trade down. Then it's just a matter of will it be a LT, WR, or CB.
