O-line takes a while to develop. Just because Deonte and BC don't see much time this year doesn't mean they aren't going to eventually get playtime. I'm a lot more interested in seeing Deonte play than BC just because he'd such a physically imposing player.

Would rather see a full game with Chuba and Freeman before trading away more draft picks on someone who is out of contract after this year.

Why do we keep trading our FA acquisitions?
portcity replied to BurnNChinn's topic in Carolina Panthers
Perryman seems like he would have been a legit MLB addition. It just seems like he wasn't a good locker room fit. If he didn't blend in with the culture there's no point in hanging onto him. -
Can't wait!

FYI Panthers still have 5 draft picks next year

Endlessly trading back only makes sense when you have very little talent to work with and we're last that point now. We have tons of depth on this roster in the secondary. We have lots of dline depth. We have some young oline depth pieces that may pan out, including Michael Jordan. We have a great young WR core and a rookie RB and TE that are getting playtime. Once you build enough talent for the pipeline you start to shift to win now which is what we've done. You can give up the Dan Arnolds because you hit on someone like Tremble. What's really impressive to me though is how well we've done with some of these project players. Robby Anderdons value went way up once we started playing with us. 8 million last year was a steal for the player we got. Darnold, who looks like a franchise QB so far, for what we got him for was insane value. Most people doubted the trade but it's looking great now. Reddick is here for 6 million dollars on a prove it deal. Arizona misused him for years and our organization knew how to unleash him. Now CJ is here and we gave up a very important pick for him. The front office has been nailing these types of picks and I'm super excited to see what he can become as a panther. -
Jaycee Horn officially placed on Injured reserve
portcity replied to TheWiz's topic in Carolina Panthers
Loved everything I saw from him so far. Hate that his first year in he didn't get a chance to play more. Hopefully they do not rush him back and he can heal. If he's back by the playoffs that would be great, but honestly given the nature of the injury it's probably better for him if he sits the year out. -
Injury updates - Burris, Gross-Matos, Horn, CMC

Chinn and Chandlee at safety with Franklin playing 3 safety sets. Chandler played 80% of the snaps against the texans. DJ and CJ at corner with Melvin in the slot. -
Panthers were in trade talks for CJ even before Horn was injured

Panthers front office have done so well rummaging through the Jets scraps that they're now looking at other trash organizations failed draft picks. Seems like they're looking for players who should play better than they have where the organization was the main culprit.- 44 replies

He hasn't gotten a ton of snaps but thays because he was buried behind Thomas and Arnold. They apparantly either liked what they saw of Tremble enough to make the trade, or we not satisfied with Arnold. Either way I'm excited to see what Tremble can do.

Panthers Signing Rashaan Melvin to Active Roster
portcity replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Melvin played a lot the last 2 weeks and I don't remember a single thing bad being said about him. I don't remember him much myself. Maybe he just won the spot? -
What does the Henderson trade mean for Donte and Jaycee?
portcity replied to t96's topic in Carolina Panthers
We should have the money to retain Jackson but it will come at a high cost down the road. It's too early to say at the moment. If CJ lives up to the hype we could let him walk. If CJ looks mediocre I definitely want Jackson retained. Next year was supposed to start our window to win. The thing is our front office has done such an excellent job in finding solid talent in free agency that I have no problem letting Jackson walk and filling other holes at safety to replace Burris, and putting much more effort into the o-line. -
This isn't even just a win now mode move. We get him through 2024 assuming he's worth a 5th year option. This secondary and dline are going to continue to feed off of each other. Excellent value if he's good.

Panthers about to trade for CJ Henderson?!?!
portcity replied to joemac's topic in Carolina Panthers
The real underrated part of this trade is that we get him this year and 3 more as part of his rookie contract. He's a legit number 1 lockout corner. Its a position we are deep in whenever Horn returns, but at that price you can't say no. If he performs extremely well this season, then we don't have to overpay Jackson amd can use that money on SS or o-line. Either way for a 3rd round pick and Arnold this is a steal. -

Free agency. We were on a budget this year, which is why we lead the league in available cap. We have 45 million available already, not including the 20 million that will rollover this year. The key offseason players not currently retained are Reddick, Jackson, Daquan Jones and Parasis. Players like Ian Thomas and Burris are not too concerning or expensive to replace in free agency. And even then the only one that has to be resigned is Reddick. I really want Jackson too though, because I feel his tackling has been phenomenal. We just need to keep working on the Oline to improve in free agency with the leftover money. -

I'm guessing this move would reduce the likelihood of us resigning Jackson. Overall this seems like a steal of a trade though. 3rd round picks are projects and not typically immediate contributors. Also excited to see Tremble get more playtime early in his career. -
Didn't help that Paradis completely missed his assignment.

Way off, lol. Their offense clicking isn't surprising. Didn't see their defense playing this well though.

I think the Packers are around the mid to bottom half of the league from what I saw in their first 2 games. Just seems like there isn't enough talent on the roster to carry them. The 49ers didn't look great but I think they win handily tonight over the Packers.

That was a hard hit on Gronk.

TD Rams.

Looking back we were a lot closer to playoff ready than I think most of us realized. Drafting fields would have taken us an extra 1 or 2 years to build. I'm not rooting against him but it does help solidify my opinion that Horn was the correct pick regardless of how Fields performs.

Lions were up 2 with 4th and 19 from the 15. Completes a 36 yard pass with no timeouts and like 15 seconds on the clock. Then the 66 yard FG to win. Ridiculous last series.

Atlanta with a last second field goal to beat the Giants.

Yep its annoying. Can't wait til the directv contract ends. I had it in the past but just don't need or want cable at this point in my life. I just want to watch all the football games. Is that too much to ask?

So many last minute games down to the wire. Chargers chiefs, giants falcons, lions and ravens.
