The thing that angers me the most about the future...
rayzor replied to NorthTryon's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not even mad anymore. It's just the most ridiculous thing any professional sports team has ever accomplished. The biggest fail. That's our legacy now. These last 6 years, that's who we are. Not just failures. Epic failures. -
LaCanfora Hearing that Scott will be Gone
rayzor replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
There's no way Fitt or anyone in this front office should still have a job. Worst team in the league by far (which, considering the level of sick not just in division, but in conference is quite an accomplishment) and you traded away your first pick....you sold the farm for the first pick and the coaching staff you hired smell of the hunger games, then your head coach gets fired and the whole coaching staff you spent mega millions on us a getting fired too? Wow what a failure. Probably the worst failure in the history of the league. I know it's on Tepper, but the heads that roll on this (and there will be) dont belong to the owner and his wife. -
Rebuilding the Carolina Panthers - how long will it take?

Longer than I'm interested in waiting. -

He wants to be involved in it all, and that's the problem. And he's also gotten/earned a bad reputation for being a difficult guy to work for. He's not going to be able to hire the best GM or HC. Partly because they'll have options for better situations (and ours sucks). But he also will be the same guy making decisions he has been. He doesn't know what he's doing. It's all trial and error. We're hoping the blind squirrel finds a nut. And then he's going to be involved in the process. And his involvement messes stuff up. Just being present and having opinions he makes known regularly is a problem because he's influenced by those who have his ear. He's present, but his presence doesn't help
-
And that's the problem. It's the power of influence people have over him and the authority he gives them. Which wouldn't be a problem if he hired better than he does. He's getting caught up in the emotional crap. He bought the program building poo of Rhule and then the good guy pastor hype of Reich. He has a type. He wants emotional influencers as coaches. And then the draw was Bryce being basically a sweetheart personality. A good kid with great manners that you would feel good bringing home to mama. It's not just Fit. It's everyone who he allows to have his ear and then he gets involved in the decision making or in the process and he'll try to influence it set expectations based on the couple of people who has his ear at the moment.

It's not like we have been a great draw anyways.

The big problem is he wants to succeed too much, but he thinks it's on him to ensure it happens and the more he fails, the more he feels he has to fix it or make sure he fixes it. What makes it even harder is he's no smarter than many fans. You look at that thread that talks about what we would do to fix the team and I could see him in there going , "yeah! This is what I need to do!" Not that he would read any and take suggestions, more that his mind is working the same way most of ours do....thinking that he knows more about how to run/fix a team than we actually do. It's ok for us, because we're just dumb fans dreaming. It's not ok for him because he's just a dumb fan who owns a team and wants to run it. And what makes it even worse is this is something he's obsessed with and he's not going to be able to let go or back away. he'll hire and get involved in every aspect and he'll listen to and be influenced by too many voices (including his wife). Hire a president of football operations who knows his poo, then give him the authority to run the team and then back the hell off.

I forgot about that guy. I wore that cd out. Momentarily filled the SRV void.

Panthers abandoning Wofford for training camp, will be in Charlotte
rayzor replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wofford has to be relieved. -
One of several remaining games that I can't imagine anyone really wanting to watch, much less televise.

Sick of Losing…Do you have Patience for a Slow 2024.
rayzor replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
kind of generous to be calling this a train ride being that we aren't going anywhere so no need to buckle up. we're stuck in the station. it's ok to get off the train and go sightseeing somewhere since it will still likely be sitting here still when you're done. -

rayzor replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
attempting to answer the OP question about patience....it's weird. it's not about patience anymore if you're already checked out. apathy has set in. i just don't really care that much. i don't care what they do and i have no idea what they should do because i'm just not putting the effort into it. -
