EXCLUSIVE: Panthers add LSU coach to Dave Canales staff
rayzor replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
How about adding some content and context to your links? -
after that concussion it's probably much better off that he calls it quits.

So that means we are looking at addressing those (at least TE and OC) via FA rather than the draft? I know (hope/assume) we're probably looking at WR in both, but if we are looking for IOL in FA i'd have to assume that also means OC. TE would probably be a short list in both the draft and FA. issue with Boze is still kind of interesting. he did all the work to try to make himself appealing to the FO. Not sure if he put all that work into making himself a better fit for the offense. If there's not a connection or a faulty connection with him and the QB, probably better to replace the center. Boze is a likeable fellow, but he just might not be the anchor we are looking for or need.

what's more comical is that for a while we were buying in to it.

Rizzuti & USA Today on prospects we've talked with
rayzor replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
there's really so many good prospects in this draft that there are going to be a quite a few who drop well below what the "experts' think they will, especially since there's always a handful of teams whose picks go quite differently than what these experts mock because their rankings are different so they pick someone quite a bit earlier than where these experts had them ranked. basically, i'm not ruling much of anything out. i've seen some crazy scenarios in different mocks that i've done (eg: one or two had Bowers going first overall and then he'll show up available at 33) and i'll look at them and go "there's no way that could happen" but teams do unexpected things. but basically it comes down to my thinking that there's really too many players with a solid and legit argument for a first round grade this year to all make it into the first round. some really good players are bound to fall. -

he's not at all a liability. what we need is some some power that we can turn to in the run game. we've been weak when we need to punch. we need an RB or two that can just give defenses a beating and force Ds to pay attention to stopping the run game. that makes it easier for bryce, it opens up the passing game, and i think that's the type situation that the OL does better in. i like having an RB that can be that dual threat kind of guy that can be used as a reliable outlet for the QB, but i think having some powerball rolling out of the backfield needs to be a big part of it all. -

Agreed. We've got to get a good TE in here. Something we can't afford to overlook. Even if it's like Jared Wiley. Just get one here.

he's tempting, but more because i'm a little bit of a clemson homer myself. honestly there's a few i'd rather have above him at any point in the draft who can do more of what i'm thinking we need. -
REPORT: Panthers prioritizing OG in free agency

i wouldn't mind avoiding all IOL this draft. -

yeah the brooks thing is a little confusing unless the idea is that they will only take an RB if the top guy falls for some reason. still some good backs with some pop in them available throughout that we probably need to be checking in to and can for sure use. i won't be upset if we don't take one, but i really would like for us to. -
chance to finish his career where he started it. not having to move family. more money. why not?

i'm really liking corum and estime. both guys that know how to get into the end zone. especially corum. ray davis is up there as well. braelon allen would be good just for shear power. -
it's overrated. grow your hair long and they don't notice the ear hair so much. btw, it's little more painful than you'd think not as bad as yanking nose hair, but still not a great feeling. will wake you up when you're tired and trying to drive, though.

agreed. i think if we trade back we might end up taking an RB. one thing i completely believe is that we absolutely should not go into next season without a power back of some kind. -
lol what a nut. what a frikkin' nut. and it doesn't surprise me.

there's this part of me that isn't really loving the CBs, mainly because the WRs have been so great. Is it partly because the CBs in college haven't been that good? i find myself just avoiding CBs unless it's late in the draft. OL looks good in this class, but i really don't want to miss out on offensive play makers. we need them badly. if anything i want to overload in that direction. -
Wow. Thanks for being a part of it all. RIP
